  1. I’ve done this diet before. It worked for me. I lost 4 or 5 pounds, I think it was. ^.^ Your dinner looks gross, in my opinion.

  2. I’m not all that familiar with Slimfast, but I get the sense that this kit wasn’t designed to meet the daily caloric intake for a man.

  3. The trick is to drink water often. helps keep you full.

  4. This could be considered a borderline sham. Let me explain why:

If you suddenly start following a very low-calorie diet, you will easily lose 2-3 kg on the first week. This may give you the impression that hey, this works marvelously! The problem is that most of that lost weight will be water, not fat. It’s just a fact that when someone starts an extreme dieting regime, they will lose an astonishing amount of weight on the first week, but after that the weight loss will slow down quite considerably, and that’s because that first-week weight loss was because of lost bodily fluids, rather than lost fat. If you then start eating normally, you’ll quickly notice that most of those 2-3 kg will come back in the next week (or even faster), as your body gets fully hydrated again.

If you try this for a week, it may give the false impression of the diet being more effective than it really is, which is why I call this a borderline sham.

Continuing a low-calorie diet for longer periods of time is a tricky business. It can work, but it needs a lot of it (ie. work). If you just slouch on the couch all day, without any kind of exercise, a very low-calorie diet can be quite detrimental to your health and overall wellbeing. That’s because the body does not consume only fat when it’s calorie-deficient and you do not exercise; it will also consume muscle. And you really don’t want that.

In order to lose weight with a low (or preferably moderate) calorie diet, you need to exercise a lot. Almost every day. You need both aerobic exercise as well as throughout muscle exercise. And you need to make sure to get all the essential nutrients, including proper amounts of proteins, carbs and even a bit of fat, in addition to all the minerals and such. Preferably you would build muscle on this regime, not lose it.

This can be a huge amount of work, and it will take a lot of time and effort. It can be worth it, but it’s not easy.

  5. This is SO much better than your last diet plan. I’m glad you’re not having another juicer thing.
