Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie – Projector

That sweetie Film Brain has done a review of that Jennifer Saunders TV show that’s now a movie! You should totally watch it, darling…

  1. First! Huzzah!! Great thumbnail and I love the description to bits!! Can you read it allowed someday? Just, anywhere!! 🙂
    This is so strange; I remember this from my childhood, but mostly because there was such enphasis on not being allowed to watch it so I listen closely whenever people talked about it and I once found the American version with Whoopi Goldburg in a shop and handled it like dynamite! Ever seen that one?
    Nice to see you enjoyed it better then the usual TV adaptations;
    Great review; the production of this sounds much more interesting (good ol’ Dawn French; glad there hasn’t bee a Vicer of Dibley film… yet)
    The massive lack of a laugh track rembind me of your So Undercover review when you mentioned that being a problem in that film; I guess that a big reason why shows like this are not suited for film as people will want the writers brought back but they’re more used to the recorded laughter format
    They could have made this more tragic, going by this; may not have been funny but it may have had a better shot at being good
    Those Transgender jokes though…wow…does it tie with Zoolander 2 or is it worse? There are a lot of similarities between the two aren’t they

    Can’t wait for the next Projector review and I do mean Projector; you take all the time you need with BMB and if you can’t make an episode right now, that suits me just fine as Projector is a fine show and no one has the right to be rude to you about it; that’s just unacceptable. Sorry if this is weird and random but I just want to let you know that at least one person in this world is not just watching waiting for news on BMB and I’m sure I’m not alone in that regard. Take care of yourself and don’t let it all get you down. Just saying 🙂

    Though another TV adaptation is being released already? The powers that be trolling you, aren’t they

  2. There is a sizable contingent of Anglophiles here in the states. The Avengers (Steed & Peel/King). Monty Python. We’re still eating up DOCTOR WHO, too.

  3. I’ve seen AbFab here in America and can’t understand the popularity. The characters are completely unlikable, including the smart and plain daughter. There was never any development. Chef, Are You Being Served?, Keeping Up Appearances, As Time Goes By, Red Dwarf, Mr. Bean, Blackadder – those were all awesome non-Doctor Who imports. But AbFab – to me it should’ve been flushed down the toilet.

    Wish I could get Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em here. I love Michael Crawford.

    • hooray!! A fellow person who enjoys Are You Being Served, Keeping Up Appearences, As Time Goes By, Blackadder and Red Dwarf (never saw Chef and not a big fan of Mr. Bean or certain Red Dwarf and Blackadder seasons); I send you a hi five over the internet 🙂

    • And yet Family Guy is popular here, despite having nothing but unlikable characters in it. I always had a cougar crush on Patsy and I just remembered why.

  4. You can especially hear and see it around 5 minutes, but Matt was definately a bit drunk for this review.
