Good review. I’ve only recently started to notice how many of my favorite films this Ian Holm pops up in (Alien, Ratatouille, The Fifth Element, Lord of the Rings), but he always gives a performance that can elevate even an already great film.

I’ve never seen Alien before so this was interesting. I still probably won’t be seeing it to be honest. However, I had no idea that there was a robot in the first Alien movie. O.O

Alien, Aliens, Predator and Carpenter The Thing are one of best SF horrors ever made! It is simply something what everyone should see! I get why people would want skip Alien 3 as despite it being good move it has one serious issue, but definitely not those mentioned.

Who do you think would win: the xenomorph? Or 15-ft. Batman with his army of Sailor Scouts?

“Tinkering with his films”: Just as long as the Xenomorph doesn’t shoot first, and there aren’t a bunch of pointless CGI creatures shoved into the foreground for some idiotic reason.

The Director’s Cut is only a minute shorter than the Original Theatrical Release.

From 117 to 116 minutes in length on the 2003 Director’s Cut DVD which I own and if you can tell that I watched it several times, then I did, I also have 2012’s Prometheus which is just on DVD,not Blu-ray.
