About Linkara

Atop the Fourth Wall is a show about bad comic books. Linkara finds the surreal and the stupid and breaks them down page by page. You'll know why they're idiotic and how they can be improved.

  1. I also love the concept of Ghost Rider years before the release of the first movie starring Nicolas Cage, and THANK YOU for also liking both movies. (insert scene of Johnny Blaze saying “Hell yes“ here.)

I first heard of the Robbie Reyes version of Ghost Rider thanks to him being a supporting character in Season 4 of Agents of SHIELD.

6:42- So Robbie is driving like he’s in the video game Big Rigs?

9:00- Take the blue pill, and you’ll wake up in your bed believing whatever you want to believe. Take the pink pill, and you’ll turn into a Doomsday like monster.

16:43- So, THIS is why Trump has ties to Russia.

19:26- And I’m now imagining if this is how Gwen Stacy from Spider-Man died.

This is a pretty decent Ghost Rider story.

  2. From what you showed us it does sound like a good story.

My only problem is that it sounds too similar to the Third Blue Beetle’s story, which I just couldn’t ignore.
That’s probably why this Ghost Rider ends up as a tragic hero at the end to differentiate from the hopeful optimistic Blue Beetle.

  3. Yes, I remember him from “Agents Of SHIELD”. I’ve been reviewing episodes of that show for a long time, BTW. Well, on the IMDb. I agree it is pretty cartoonish. No “One More Day” joke about Mephisto? Well, you have mentioned that less after you actually reviewed it.

  4. Ghost Rider and Terminator… Can Ghost Rider actually penance stare machines? Still, won’t lie, now that you’ve said it I’ll never be able to get it out of my head.

  5. Agents of SHIELD Ghost Rider is like the old and new version in one. Robbie is possessed by the spirit that Johnny has, he has the new jacket but the skull is like Johnnys and Eli is almost completely different person.

    • “he has the new jacket but the skull is like Johnny’s”

I’d have said it was the other way around. Or am I wrong? I haven’t got a lot of Ghost Rider.

  6. I like the visuals of Ghost Rider but I don’t like anything else. Also, not the cat! NO! Poor cat. Although, with this artwork, I could barely tell that it was a cat.

    Number 4 is you-know-who.

  8. Wait… the writer took over the art?!? Wow! I’ve only ever heard it the other way around. Not to mention that it’s such an improvement. (I’ve never liked cartoony art, especially on a serious book. I hated that period when it was sooo fashionable.)

It’s a pity Dr Zabo and Ghost Driver* never met on Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D..

I assume this Ghost Driver’s appearance on Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. is the reason for your patron’s change-of-mind.

“I mean, if you were a repentant Satanist, that’d be different.”
Well, yeah. Repentance is a huge factor.

“Johnny Blaze rides away, probably listening to the hits of the 80s, 90s, and today.”
Johnny Blaze listens to The Carpenters. You know that.

    * There is no reason why, on Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., he would be called a Rider; he drives a car, and isn’t a legacy character, unlike the comics version. Not that I hate him for it or anything.

  9. This comic sucks. It ruined my favorite marvel character.
