  1. I’m surprised that you didn’t point out the obvious strong influence that EarthBound had on Citizens of Earth, right down to the battle system, the retro design, the strange variety of enemies and NPCs, and so on. The title even has “Earth” in it!

It’s one of the reasons I bought it on PSN, since Nintendo doesn’t seem interested on making another EarthBound game sometime this millennium.

  2. My husband has been playing Citizens of Earth and is really enjoying it–however, the game has frozen on him 3 or 4 times, so that’s frustrating.

I really should play the two games you mentioned. Pushinguproses just did a review for fandango remastered about 2 weeks ago so i’ll check out that video as well.

  4. eh…I would buy Grim Fandango but I’m not really a fan of adventure games in that style.

  5. Grim Fandango is truly fantastic. I actually dug it out and replayed it a few years ago, and my girlfriend actually ended up just watching the entire thing (even cried at certain bits, to avoid spoilers).

The game is worth it even if you hate adventure games – you can play it just to see the story, and use the FAQ to solve the puzzles (although the puzzles are also so great and ingenious it would be a slight waste).
