Interesting. I’ve never heard of this.


I’ve read GCA, and I second the recommendation. If you liked GCA, you’ll probably also like the book Terran Privateer and its sequel Duchess of Terra by Glynn Stewart. Both are very space opera humans-in-the-face-of-adversity deals.


Sounds like you would also enjoy Dan Simmons’ Ilium and Olympos novels. Though the references here a way more elitarian nerdy, with Shakespear robot scholars, the Illiad being recorded on a sound stage on mars, and much more.

In fact it sounds a like this book might be slightly inspired by Dan Simmons’ as he is most famous for being the author of the Hyperion books.
