  1. “Who do they think they’re kidding?!”

Ahh, I see what you did there.

  2. I thought sitcoms were only boring slice-of-life crap. Is this sort of like MASH?

  3. Sunday!?!?! I thought your stuff came out on Friday….gaaaaugh!! I can’t keep up!!
Oh well, it’s here now…hey, I remember that shirt from Ironclad!!! Awesome!!!!

Oh my goodness, I love Dad’s Army!!! Watched a lot of old BBC sitcoms (Are You Being Served, Yes Minister, As Time Goes By, Keeping Up Appearences) as a kid and this was one of my favorites though I found it compleatly by accident (a disk with five episodes was in a newspaper movie sleave for Intermezzo was loaned to us and we’re all pretty suprised to find a BBC show instead of an Ingrid Bergman flick: a pleasent one though)

1:22 so weird hearing series that way even though I watch a lot of British television (every Saturday night? Lucky duck…)
3:17 grey pound? What’s that? Worst luck: two of the genres you do not have the best of luck with come together

Shame…..I new this movie would stink the moment I saw how prominent Catherine Zeta Jones would be.

    Still hurts though….I’m all sad now… 🙁

Great review though! I hope this will be the last of these sitcom films as they seem to be continusously lame! 🙁
This seems to be an international problem

  4. Hello FilmBrain,

I feel like I want to give you some feedback, so I hope you’ll somehow read this.
When I started visiting the old tgwtg-site you were one of the first reviewers I watched regularly besides the NC and the Snob. I enjoy your analysis very much and I like your style. But maybe you’re too busy with other things, but lately I’ve been kind of disappointed with the amount *and* content of your episodes. Not only do I find your scripted BMB reviews SO much more interesting then the Projector ones – you’re also quite late to the party, so to speak. I don’t know *why*, but by the time you give your impressions of recent movies, I’ve already heard at least one or two other reviewers already talk about them or I’ve read some reviews about them.
Now, I still appreciate *your* particular take on these movies, especially the ones from the GB, so I’ll keep watching these episodes, but I must admit that I always let out a little sigh when I see that the new episode is just a projector-episode about some movie I’m already well aware of.

  5. Read some history books you dumbass blokes.

  6. That’s why there should be more actual serious minded historical cinema, I hate and fear the future.
