You know I really only heard of Darker then black because anime zone put Hei on the list of top 20 coolest anime characters… near the bottom of the list but he was described as Chinese Electric Batman and his powers as shown there seemed cool as did the idea of this kind of vigilante. And I saw the opening and that seemed cool but… yeah just seeing clips of you guys talking about the episode the execution and just plain writing and set up aren’t enough to keep invested. The thing about exposition is you either keep it in… Read more »

Did you know that one of the earliest known weaknesses for vampires was that they were so obsessive compulsive, that if you left a pile of stones or a handful of grains beside their grave, they would be forced to count them all before setting out on their night’s feasting of blood. So, yeah, Count von Count actually has his origins in genuine vampire lore.

Yeah I know that, but not only is the villain in this story not a vampire but considering this anime is only like 10 years old it takes place and was made in our modern day way of thinking and story telling. And sorry in serious works you can’t just have those kind of counting powers nowadays. Thus why you don’t really have vampires have that weakness in movies and the like now either. Count Von Count of Seaseme Street works (barring the fact it was made more in the 70’s and the like) because not only is he not… Read more »

I decided to give this show a chance to see why anyone might think “Darker Than Black,” a pretty roundly praised series, isn’t all that good. Not a mistake I’ll be making again. Of course I realized almost immediately that this was a “comedy” style review, but it was… painfully unfunny. More than that it was frankly annoying, if anyone could be accused of bitching it would be our two charisma-free hosts here.

Ow the edge.

I was going to reply giving the producer (assuming JT_Kamp is the JT from the video) credit for at least having a sense of humour about negative comments…

Then google informed “Ow the edge” is just a recently popular internet meme. That fact is the perfect summation of my complaints about this video.

And the edge just keeps on coming. I don’t know if I can handle these sheer levels of maximum over-edge.

I though Darker than Black was a good idea for a show but it wasn’t done well. I got through the first season because the action was good and there’s one character introduced later that’s kind of interesting but I finished the first season feeling like I understood the world less that than I started. It was also early into my anime watching that I watched this. i don’t think I’d have finished it if I watched it now and I haven’t really heard anything about the second season that made me want to watch it.
