  1. I just saw this movie on HBO, and it just blew me away. I’m not ashamed to admit the ending did bring a few tears to my eyes.

  2. Well, then, I guess I’m one of those few people. I felt that the ending DID represent the fact that she did not like the adaptation. She cried because there were certain lines of dialog from the film that paralleled what she felt about her father and how she in a way wished he could have been “saved”. Grant it, that probably did not happen in real life, but she was only reacting to that one part of the film, not to the whole thing. The fact that the adaptation wasn’t how she wanted it was never lost on me. Perhaps most people won’t see it that way since the film doesn’t come out and say it directly, but I do believe the subtext of that scene is enough to bring you to that conclusion.
