Ella Enchanted – Lost in Adaptation

The Dom delegates the task of comparing Ella Enchanted to the book it was based on. Do they have ANYTHING in common?

Ay! I both read the book and saw the movie. In fact, I was obsessed with both as a kid. To the point that I asked my mom to change my name to Ella and I would also be on the lookout for any outfits that I deemed “Ella-worthy”. I don’t know why I was so obsessed but I was. 🤷 Yeah, looking back the movie is more of a teen parody fairy tale movie. The movie was actually how I discovered Queen. Haha.

“There and back again.” Nice Hobbit reference.

22:00 It was at this point that I had to wonder if Bart Simpson had somehow gotten a hold of the unfinished script!

I’ve never seen the movie or read the book, but even though the first half of the movie showed little resemblance to the source material I still wouldn’t have guessed it would end like….THAT! LOL

Did you really not notice that Mr. Obvious Evil was a copy of Prince John of Disney’s Robinhood? You know the one where King Johns best friend was a snake?
