For Honor – Sidequest

Ubisoft brings us a medieval combat simulator that seems to have some marketing hype behind it. Will the visceral combat be enough to justify its standard AAA price tag?

Or at the very least, if the Vikings are going to have horned helmets, make them DOVAHKIIN HELMETS! DOVAHKIIN! DOVAHKIIN! NOT A SINGLE SARDINE!

I have an interest in medieval combat so this game looks very promising. Hopefully the single player campaign is decent, although I get the impression it’s a multiplayer focused title. Perhaps in a future update we’ll see ninja and pirate factions added.

Theoretically, the Ninja (or Shinobi) were mostly just spies and stealth-based assassins. So unless the game is going to incorporate a stealth mechanic, I don’t think Ninja would work terribly well. However, truth to tell, I would LOVE to see a stealth-based Ninja game. Seems like Ninja games generally tend to be heavy action-based, but I would love to see one similar to the stealth mechanics of the Arkham games, where you have to take your enemies out quickly and silently, and resort to combat only when absolutely necessary. My friend such a game exists. Check out Tenchu Z on the xbox360/ps3. Ninja stealth game set in feudal Japan, with loads of historically accurate ninja weapons and tools at your disposal. Best of all you can probably find it for under ten bucks these days.
