I just think of it whenever people complain about Scooby-Doo crossing over with things, when The New Scooby-Doo Movies' thing was crossing Scooby with actors, singers, athletes, other TV shows, superheroes, etc.

The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. An idiot and his never-smiling best friend win a game of limbo (in limbo) against the Grim Reaper and thus gain his services as their Best Friend Forever. All sorts of supernatural things occur and appear. Your basic Universal monsters appear, card games come to life, magical chocolate sauce that turns you into chocolate upon massive consumption, Billy gets a talking spider for a son after taking care of its egg, that sorta stuff. And being a kids show, Grim gets neutered as a reaper for the most part

    How...odd.

Checked the air dates; that came out about the time I was generally watching more "adult" cartoons like Clone High, Futurama and Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law. Guess that's why I had no idea what you talking about. If it's on Canadian Netflix I may give it a shot.

Like @Fluffyman pointed out, there was The Scooby Doo Movies and that featured the gang teaming up with Batman, the Harlem Globetrotters, The Three Stooges, and The Addams Family to name a few. And there have been two WWE Scooby Doo movies. And Scooby and the gang have met KISS twice. Once in a movie and in an episode of What's New Scooby Doo.

Yeah but Supernatural? The guys there went for this? But okay if we're doing this, get in Jason Voorhees for a future episode.

As what I can comment on Supernatural, the show has been running for 12 seasons now, bound to just throw in a lot of ideas at this point I guess, and it's not the only weird episode thing they either, once did an episode or at least part of an episode like a sitcom... at least from what I heard.

Okay, par on for the course then. Like I said, bring in Jason Voorhees if we're doing this.

That episode at least had an explanation in-universe.

Loki; actually the Archangel Gabriel, is fucking with the Winchesters in an effort to get them to accept their roles in the impending Apocalypse as vessels for Lucifer (Sam) and Michael (Dean). He traps them in different TV Shows to keep them off guard in the hopes they'll just given, let the Apocalypse happen and end the world since Gabriel himself is tired of the infighting between God, Lucifer and the Angels

The only successful way to really pull off this crossover would be to basically rip off the bare bones of this plot with a different reasoning. To suit whatever's happening right now (I'm way behind; haven't watched since season 9 or so).

I remember how they tried to retcon this near the shows' finale, when they tried to hook Raven up with her longtime friend Eddie instead, which made ZERO sense (unles they were going for a 'Ross and Rachel' angle, which still makes no sense as there was nothing beforehand that indicated the two were meant to become an item).

I really do hope, if they plan to bring back more old faces, we get to see Rae's Parents and Chelsea's Mom again. I never understood why the actress who played Raven's Mom left halfway through the series...

This isn't that surprising. They never really figured out how to use her, and I'm not sure her talents were really suited for the SNL format. This frees her up for more interesting projects that are a better fit for her style.
