About Todd in the Shadows

Culinary school? Don’t knock it. Queen Latifah actually did a movie about a character that was an aspiring chef. So there’s that. And I think L.L. plays another chef in the same film.

  2. I’ve never heard of this song before. I don’t know how to feel about this song. I prefer songs that I can relate to. Then again, this is still classier than some of the Top 40 songs. Also, I heard she just came out with a new album earlier this year.

  3. R&B = Really boring. IMO.

  4. I can’t say I’ve ever heard of Adina Howard or ‘Freak Like Me’ before. I lived through the 90’s and can’t recall the song, though it is possible I’ve heard it and it didn’t stand out amongst all the other sound-alike R&B groups of the period.
It is a good song though.

    Thanks Todd.

Pretty much, by the end of the New Jack Swing era, R&B basically just became Hip-Hop Lite. Prior to NJS, it was mostly about lyrical and vocal proficiency; after NJS, it was all about beats.
