Godzilla vs. Hedorah – Brandon Tenold

It’s the trippiest Godzilla movie ever with “Godzilla vs. Hedorah” (1971), where The Big G battles a giant sludge monster AND teaches people to respect the environment!

  1. So Hedorah is the only monster in a Godzilla movie those maser tanks, y’know the ones that shoot lightning, would actually work against? So naturally they weren’t deployed in this outing.

  2. I have mixed feelings on this entry in the G-films. I can’t stand the Kenny, but the saving grace for me is that I find Hedorah to be a very unique monster design, in it’s shape changing abilities and other powers.

  3. Haha, Godzilla flying in this movie makes the tail scene from Godzilla vs. Megalon seem plausible by comparison.

  4. Hedorah left the cat and went after the smokestacks because it consumes pollution to make toxic gas. And that explains how the cat survived. Wait… what?

  5. I saw this movie on TV as a little kid, and always loved it as one of my all time favorites. Watching it again as a grown-up, it’s amazing how much of the weirdness my childhood mind accepted and forgot.

I like the Japanese intro music better.
