About ChrisStuckmann

Quick, funny reviews of movies and games, new and old.

  1. Loved Memento and the original Insomnia, so of course I was gonna love Nolan’s Insomnia. Pacino is great and Williams probably gives his best performance ever (he might be slightly better in One Hour Photo though).
    Can’t recommend this movie enough!

  2. I never heard of this movie and I never heard of the original either. Although, I’ve liked most of the Nolan films that I have seen, except maybe The Dark Knight Rises. Lastly, Matthew Brando is an awesome name.

  3. I saw this in theaters when it came out, and I have a theory why it’s not as well liked as Nolan’s other films. I think it has to do with Robin Williams. Now Williams had mostly done comedy roles up to this point. Yes, he did Good Will Hunting, but that was 5yrs ago at this point, and since then Patch Adams, What Dreams May Come, Bicentennial Man, and Death to Smoochy (which is awesome) has come out. This was the first time where Williams had not really played a “bad guy” yet (ironically 1hr Photo would come out later that year immediately changing people’s minds). Insomnia was Williams’ transition film, and I think people let that cloud their judgement.

  4. Interstellar is his worst.
