    The film doesn’t address these things video game technicalities because it doesn’t have to. Say what you will about 1982’s TRON, but it presented it’s ideas in much the same way. The entire world was happening all at once, even if the current “user” wasn’t interacting with it in a specific way and that worked just fine for suspension of disbelief.

    Also, I think it’s really important to stress that it’s a comedy where people’s bodies and intellect are sucked into a retro console game – it’s a fantastic, implausible premise to begin with.

    Finally, if the game only rendered and reality only existed where the main characters were, the solution to any greater problem would be stop and relax…because nothing exists in this fantasy universe beyond the protagonist’s perception.

  3. Yeah. I looking forward to the dumb fun of this movie. At least with the added motif of video games, it actually is an update.
