Lotus Prince: Resident Evil 2 Preview Disc

Let’s take a sneak peek at what my favorite game in the series has to offer! There may just be some differences between the demo and the final release!

About Lotus Prince

I enjoy playing video games, and I particularly favor survival horror games.

  1. You didn’t know about Claire?
I knew about her and I only saw the movies & some videos on Youtube. Claire Redfield is like… the protagonist of part 3 & 4 of the movies, I think. ^^
I always get the parts mixed up.
Whatever, I don’t like to play those games myself, but I like to see how others play them. ^^
    Nice video. 😀

    • I actually do know about Claire, but I was playing it up in case people didn’t know. I beat RE2 back in college. 🙂

Thanks a lot for your support!

  2. Looks like a fun game and a good expansion on the atmosphere and mechanics of the first one, if still suffering a bit from the awkwardness of the console limitations of the time. The bits in the demo did make me interested in what was going on, though the silliness of the random puzzles in the police station and the weirdness of Jill barely being mentioned (mostly because you played the first game as her) did throw me off a bit.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the game when you get to it! ^_^

  3. Okay, this has my attention which is what a good demo is supposed to do, of course. Also, those zombie sounds made me laugh!

  4. Another let’s play…. what do people find in the these?

    • Commentary and insight on games I otherwise would know nothing about. They’re a bit like film reviews in that way, except that they also tend to let people experience the story who may not have access to the game or may not feel they could stomach/find everything in/overcome the challenges of the game in question. Certainly are many elements of games that I would not have learnt about just by playing them myself (particularly when it concerns elements of American culture, as I do not have firsthand experience with that).

Or, in short: people find entertainment and value in different things and you don’t have to like Let’s Plays just because others do, nor is our interest unfathomable if you don’t see the fun.

  5. Loved Resident Evil 2! My all-time favorite entry in the series. Even if gameplay was much improved in the sequels. The presentation, characters, mood, setting, enemies, areas to explore, and the music was just glorious. The game was great at giving you that eerie sense of exploring a deserted area, like when you first walk into the police station.

    Great stuff.

  6. Loved the video. The Sega Saturn was my main system back in the 32-bit era but, i had a PSX as well, and it was also awesome thanks to great games like Resident Evil 2.

  7. There is actually a secret in the Resident Evil Demo that you did not address. If you play through the entire intro and reach the police station without firing a single shot, or picking up any ammo, you earn a special bonus. This requires you to take some damage however. There are a few zombies that tend to block some of the alleys, so you need to get bitten, and then push them over. This allows you to knock over a couple of zombies, so that you can run past them. It’s a been several years, so I don’t remember the exact details of what the reward was. But they made a contest out of it in some of the magazines that gave the demo away.
