  1. I did enjoy this game, but I do agree it was way too hard at times and taking away Mega Man’s slide and Mega Buster were just lame decisions on Capcom’s part. I did like the return to the NES look, but I didn’t like the fact that it retained the harder challenge from 7,8, and Megaman and Bass.

  2. This game was hard? You beat it on the first day you bought it. Not very old-school NES hard, that. Beating Contra on the first day, sure. Beating a relatively short RPG on the first day, if you have the energy, yeah. Beating a Mega Man game within a single twelve-hour sitting? Preposterous. Unless it’s far easier than II or III. Or unless, after 16 years, you’re still playing at your absoLUTE peak side-scrolling ability.

Gotta admit, I hear about this when it came out, I just never snapped it up. It prolly helped that I never had a Wii of my own (I just played friends’ versions). If there were any desktop versions, and if there were old-school controllers with USB ports….maybe. These retro-gaming vids are very fun to watch, but it still feels like they’re of a time so far gone I could never return to them.
