Midnight Screenings: The Loft

It’s still January, so Team Snob sees a couple of real winners.

About thecinemasnob

Brad Jones portrays The Cinema Snob, a pretentious film snob who is stuck with reviewing Z-Grade exploitation flicks of the past. I'm a big guy. For you.

  1. I don’t know if it’s out in America yet or not, but when it comes out I recommend you see Kingsman.

I have no words to describe the… entity that is that movie. Make of that what you will, but you will most likely at least get some laughs out of it.

    • It’s not out until Feb. 12/13 in the US and Canada. I imagine poor returns on opening weekend, opening against 50 Shades of Grey and all….I may just get my ass out to a theater to see Kingsman (I’ll just have to get over my entirely irrational dislike of Colin Firth is all)

  2. Just from the trailer, the Loft pissed me off. I’m SO glad that you guys didn’t like it! 😀 Too much sleaze for my taste! It’s not even fun Michael Bay sleaze! Although, I read that one of the actors in this movie is from the original Loft movie as well. You guys bring up some good points. The only “bad person” character that I have ever liked is Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City. That is because she had great style, loyal friends, a great apartment, and enthusiasm. I usually don’t like “bad people” characters even if they’re charming… I actually want to see Seventh Son.

I’m a Michael Bay fan and I don’t even know if I want to see this. For that reason, I stopped the review early. Imagine Dragons is a pretty good band.

  3. This video actually makes me a little curious to see The Loft.

great pair of reviews.I think i’ll just stay home this weekend and watch channel awesome.in response to thr loft, it now has a zero percent on rotten tomatoes and now I can see why cause you guys hated it. Also in response to Project Almanac review, I won’t try to correct dave’s math because i’m not an expert so its fine. i’m not surprised you guys didn’t like the movie since it wasn’t reviewed by Michael bay.

  5. Erica Nicole Jones

I was waiting o Snob to review Boy Next Door man that movie had some stupid characters and cliché scenes like a fucking cat jumping which its not like every horror movie hasn’t been doing that shit for 30 something years. Plus I had a strong feeling that Project Almanac was going to be stupid because the previews for it are just like the old Paranormal Activity ones where impressionable audience have to show reactions to only good scenes

  6. Apparently, Brian thinks that Dave is 114 days old.

  7. So how many nicknames are we up to? Angry Jake, Slaver Brian, Fear Boner Dave…

  8. Fear-boner Dave and Slaver Brian.

That sounds like a sitcom if ever there was one.

  9. This maybe just me rationalizing , but the movie mentioned something of a longitudal stabilizer meaning that they would stay in the same place. They could in theory mess with the stabilizer and go wherever they feel like.

  10. Another week where everyone is equally miserable. I guess it means no one has one up over the other at least.
