About Linkara

Atop the Fourth Wall is a show about bad comic books. Linkara finds the surreal and the stupid and breaks them down page by page. You'll know why they're idiotic and how they can be improved.

  1. At 20:41 I way trying to piece together to process that song title, when my jaw literally dropped as I caught the background joke before you even spelled it out! Oh yes, greatest plot twist this comic could ever provide!

  2. Based on your recommendation for the 80’s remix of Closer, I did check it out and yeah, it’s pretty good.

  3. No worries, Linkara, the citizens of Equestria are strictly vegetarian. Some examples of their oh-so-delicious cuisine include hayburgers, and steamed whole carrots in hot-dog buns.

(They do eat dairy and eggs, though.)

  4. FORTY-TWO CAKES? DON’T LET LEX LUTHOR FIND OUT! BECAUSE HE’D STEAL ALL BUT TWO! AND THAT WOULD BE TERRIBLE!

  5. The interesting thing is, Shining Armor and Cadence do live happily ever after in a crystal castle…until they have a demon baby but that’s much further down the road. Buck’s dad being a congresspony doesn’t mean a thing when Cadance is Celestia’s adopted daughter.

For someone who claims not to be a fan of MLP you sure get into over-analyzing Linkara, and believe it or not, we as fans discuss things like how their world works with ponies being the sentient race. We’ve kind of long since swept the whole hooves should not work like fingers and thumb thing under the rug though. Here’s some fun trivia for you: ponies don’t eat meat but for some reason they have milk and various desserts that wouldn’t be possible without milk. Those sentient cows you’ve seen live in a long barn just outside of Ponyville. I wonder if that’s where it gets its milk from and if other towns and cities have a similar arrangement. Slavery confirmed.

    • “For someone who claims not to be a fan of MLP you sure get into over-analyzing Linkara”

That’s because Lewis lives with an MLP fan (Viga). He likely gets most of his information on MLP lore from her. Like how I know several things about Marc Brown’s Arthur only because my kid brother used to be a fan of the show (before he outgrew it).

Also, I know that entire comic was a nod to 1980s pop culture, but I find it to believe that Shining Armour was a nerd in high school, and why is Cadence, a royal, attending a public school? Wouldn’t she have a private tutor?

    • “until they have a demon baby but that’s much further down the road”

That how marring into royal family usually end..

“We’ve kind of long since swept the whole hooves should not work like fingers and thumb thing under the rug though”

Yes, because there is simple explanation for that. All ponies has magic capabilities, and mist likely answer is limited telekinetic.

      “Slavery confirmed”

Lets not exaggerate. We shouldn’t bring human logic into pony world.

  6. about the implication of a congress, I’m not sure the show every established that Equestria is an absolute monarchy. I mean, they have freedom of press to the point were someone can take a picture of Celestia pigging out on cake with no repercussions.

  7. fighting bad guys with laser and swords and whatnot is cool and all but I like it even better when words become a weapon, well done

  8. I just want to know how they knew all of the stuff they weren’t there for!

  9. @-33:12 I’m guessing that this is like a modern euro constitutional monarchy were they still have royalty because a) they’ve always been there and b) tourism dollars (shrugs)

  10. ( -38:15 ) Semi-malleable hooves, Linkara… Semi. Malleable. Hooves. :3

  11. “At least have a good run of it before it ends.”
    So cool.
