  1. Funny and painful to watch, nice job. I liked how you captured what was wrong with Death Note by getting kind of close to the source material that it was recognizable, and yet far enough it was irritating.

  2. I still think the Netflix Death Note wasn’t as bad as people made it out to be.

    • Acetylsalicilique

Of course it wasn’t that bad : It’s a good movie

“bouhou it’s different from the manga”, of course it fucking is, get over it you crybabies…

      • So I’m guessing with that attitude, you had no problems with Batman vs Superman and how that completely strayed from it’s source material?

      • I’m actually in agreement with Dom when it comes to Death Note. The movie would have been fine if they had just called it a continuation or “in-universe” story. The problem was they took well liked and developed characters and dumbed them down, simplified everything, basically gutting the original story of everything that made it great until the final product was a lifeless husk. There’s nothing wrong with making changes, that’s inevitable with converting 12.5 hrs of source material down to 1.5, but it has to make sense. Watch The Dom’s video about the movie, I think he does a good job explaining the changes that were made and why they don’t make sense.

        • My opinion is closer to Count Jackula and Horror Guru’s. It’s definitely flawed, but there’s still a lot to enjoy about it. I agree that it would have been better if it wasn’t supposed to be a direct remake, but the changes didn’t bother me as much as they did a lot of people. I think that’s partially because while I like the original Death Note I’m not super attached to it, and partially because I like Adam Wingard’s style of filmmaking.

  3. still a better martial arts movie than Dragonball Evolution
