Brilliant commentary or dumb D*ck Flick? Check out the Nostalgia Critic’s movie review of 1993’s Demolition Man to find out!

  1. Also, can you do a review of Speed? I really want to see you do that.

  2. I would label Steven Seagal (1988-1992) as Spiritual Meh-Yan! While your there at C2E2, I recommend checking out Underbelly Comics, they’re a publishing company from Canada that put out works ranging from horror, fantasy, noir homage to great children’s books. Their booth is 140. Great video as always Doug.

  3. I love these reviews. They’r so much better than the very long talks with your brother. They tend to get too long. But these reviews are the reason I love you, NC! Keep up the good work!

  4. Can you do a review of Epic? The animation? 🙂

  5. Moviemantweeter1999

That three shells theory by Malcolm was brilliant. Enjoyed the review and love the cameo by spazzmaster’s wife pretty cool. I also hope that once I get off this video that there will be a new episode of pop quiz hotshot to the site since last time once I finished watching the avgn crossover you did pop quiz hotshot was the video right next to it so here’s to hopeing(fingers crossed_).

  6. Ah, Demolition Man. I loved this movie. Though it’s still no Last Action Hero.

  7. This brings back memories. This was the first big production, that my brothers and I followed because they filmed all over the Southland scouting for futuristic locales. This is before the Getty opened and you can just film every Marvel film there. (I’m only half joking, Avengers, Winter Soldier and Guardians have Getty in them)

They filmed the Taco Bell scenes in Costa Mesa near the Performing Arts center and the Retro-rama exhibit at the La Brea Tar Pits. Even my future alma-mater Cal Poly Pomona got in the act.

The reason for the lackluster final explosions may have to do with its the DWP building next to Union Station. Not an abandoned warehouse ripe for exploding.

    Muh-muh-muh May-nee!

  8. Here I thought the three seashells were buttons for three different settings on a bidet.

  9. I was waiting for someone after Spoony’s revew of the Demolition Man video game for the 3DO to review this movie. I’ve seen this movie, but like the Stallone Judge Dredd movie, I don’take it seriously.

  10. “wait, we have guards?!” That made lol. Quite a bit.

  11. One of the best Nostalgia Critic episodes ever. I nearly died of laughter from this review.

  12. If Demolition Man is dumb, that makes todays action/sci-fi films retarded.

  13. I think Demolition Man used to have a rating of like 40 on RottenTomatoes. I know this because Rob Schneider’s in it. Damn, he really CAN act! I loved the Italian Stallion joke. Yeah, you’ll have to look that up too. Hey, you said Christ and your balls didn’t get zapped!

  14. I always enjoyed the movie. It’s an action flick, but a fun one which for all its stupidity is at least creative to a certain degree.

  15. Funniest review in weeks. I haven’t seen this movie but I’m considering it now.

  16. 3:00- Man, the Dark Age of Cinema really started with a lot of destruction in the Los Angeles area, didn’t it?

5:27- I actually slightly believe in a future this movie shows than a not so distant future where crime is legal for one night of the year, and I’m STILL happy I never paid money to see The Purge movies.

6:12- The swearing thing reminds me, I still love watching you 5 Second Movie version of Demolition man, and the end where Ned Flanders faints from all the profanity.

7:26- If I ever have kids, I want my daughter to have that girl’s enthusiasm. That’s bad-ass.

If I ever woke up in the same future as the one in this movie, I’d walk in front of a car on a highway to end it already.

13:19- Fun fact: When Demolition Man was released in Europe, “Taco Bell” was changed to “Pizza Hut.” Also, I wouldn’t mind if every restaurant is Taco Bell, ‘cause their food rocks.

15:02- Oh boy, that Laserdisc reference is SO dated.

18:38- The bullets missed out heroes, because …there are heroes; we don’t need any more explanations than that, because this is a 90’s action flick.

This is one of my favorite “so bad it’s good” movies to ever come out of the 90s. It’s cheese, it’s cliché, it doesn’t take itself seriously, and it’s such a joy to watch whenever I find it while flipping through the TV channels.

  17. Finally! demolition man is getting the praise it deserves !

  18. I have to admit, this was one of the better Nostalgia Critic episodes in terms of the “skit” part of it. It went back to the old formula of “introduce it early on, then forget about it until the very end”, which works better in my opinion than the continual skits we’ve seen in most of the recent episodes, since those tend to do little more than distract from the review itself……

  19. Franchise Wars, was that Deus Ex or Syndicate? Or both?

  20. Blaze The Movie Fan

You know, this makes me wanna see the movie, yeah I really do.

  21. You claim that Malcolm eliminated all crime, but if it was a crime, wasn’t it already outlawed?

  22. This movie is stupid but it’s stupid the same way that Robocop and the Matrix is stupid. There’s clever stuff there but generally it’s just a stupidly over the top action film.

  23. Can you talk about the MTV series Good Vibes and Daria?

On a side note, I mention this all before, why do you review a classic horror like this one I’ve finally found after all these years after just seeing a few scenes of it and never knowing how it ended. It’s called Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama. You might like it. Maybe.

Also what do think of these TV series shows called:
    John Doe
    Forever Knight
    The Misfits (British Show)
Misfits of Science (Movie and series)
    and The Zeta Project
(I think some of these shows are like Sonic the Hedgehog a.k.a. Sonic Sat a.m. They all have incomplete ending.)

P.S. Is there anyway you can review the Japanese versions of Ironman, Wolverine, X-men and Blade? I’d also really like to hear what you think about the FX series Archer and Chozen.

P.S.S. And I never found out if you were going talk more about the Disney Afternoon shows Gummi Bears, Chip N Dale’s Rescue Rangers, Talespin(even the hour uncut movie special I found about it) and Darkwing Duck. Also you never answer my question, If you hate the Goof Troop song: “Gotta Be Gettin’ Goofy” then does that mean you hate The Darkwing Duck Rap? watch?v=aT33uhX4P7I watch?v=AtrqJm9UBII watch?v=xHeQpFNhnzc watch?v=44diDIvz8mo watch?v=cjjUv4p9yTM

  24. I am saddened by the lack of a Linkara “I am a Man!” punch.

  25. So on the premiere of gravity, Sandra Bullock replied she thought the 3 seashells worked like a bidet… I had considered that idea back then but dismissed it because I thought it wouldn’t always get yer ass clean enough BUT I JUST REALIZED – THEY CONTROL WHAT YOU EAT so they control your digestion and hence the consistency of your poop… so a bidet could actually be enough!

  26. Did the Nostalgia Critic just make Malcolm his heir?

  27. I think they had fun making this movie. I really feel it shows in their acting. So personally I enjoy this one

  28. Now THIS is Doug’s best review of the year so far!

  29. KnotYourAverageHusky

Oh wow, because Taco Bell doesnt exist here in Germany, they changed it to Pizza Hut in our version…they even changed out the logo you can see in one scene to the one from Pizza Hut

  30. Three seashells must be some kind of futuristic bidet cleaning devices. They probably just look like seashells because of product design.
