Rocked Album Review: Highly Suspect – Mister Asylum

The rock world gets gritty and low with Brooklyn’s Highly Suspect and there “No F’s Given” attitude.

About Rocked

Rocked!  A series that at least once a week will take a new album in the rock genre (everything from soft alternative to metal) under review so you can see if it's worth your time and money.

Another good review. I’m not sure if I’ll but this album, I’ll have to listen to more of their full songs before I decide whether it’s my type of music. Besides, I recently spent money on an album–Muse’s Drones, just released today–and due to my current financial situation I try not to buy too many albums at once. Needs vs. wants, you know?

    Anyway, great review again. πŸ™‚

  2. Wow I never expected to see this on the site. I’ve been following this band since I saw them at Lollapalooza last year and they are really exceptional. My one problem is unless I am missing something this album isn’t out yet? To my knowledge only 6/10 of the tracks of the album have been released so far. Are you basing this rating simply on those 6 songs because I feel that’s a bit unfair, 4 songs can easily make or break an album especially one with only 10 songs. Otherwise solid review I will check out mroe of your content.

    • I was sent the full album by the publicist. I assure you I listed to EVERY album I review in entirety. I usually work with publicists/managers/labels/bands to get the albums in advance.

      • That’s awesome, I can’t wait to hear the remaining songs for myself, if they are consistent with all the others this will definitely be one of my top albums for the year. Might I suggest that you check out The Algiers self-titled album? It’s another debut album that incorporates blues/soul with post-punk. Probably the best post-punk I’ve heard since Plowing through the Field of Love by Iceage last year. Cheers!

I’m sorry, I can’t hear you over how jealous I am

  3. CIG is taking preorders for his new album. He was the producer/guitarist for my favorite band of all time- CKY, and has been working on the record for a while now.
