Roseanne: The Final Season – Binge Watch

So how much did the final season of Roseanne jump the shark?

  1. I didn’t watch much of Roseanne during its initial run, but I got really into it when Nick at Nite ran it in the 00s. “Satan, Darling” was actually one of the few episodes I did see in the first run. It was definitely weird, but I did appreciate the “Rosemary’s Baby” parody.

  2. Yikes. Good thing I never got into Roseanne.

  3. There was actually a reason for the Edina and Patsy from Absolutely Fabulous cameo this season. Rosanne was a fan of Ab Fab and at the time she was talking about producing an American version of the series. Obviously, that didn’t happen.

There was a cringeworthy interview with ol’ Rosey in the 1996 TV Guide Fall Preview that foreshadowed what we were in for. The show had already gone south, and she was suggesting ideas like creating an episode intended as a sequel to Showgirls.

I don’t know how far along that got, but Showgirls 2: Connors In The Buff would have been far worse than Roseambo.
