  1. I was going to say that you should have raised the pitch of the voices, but that’s going a little too far.

  2. Wow, that was cool! It’s been long since I’ve seen the original chipmunks movie. I don’t remember most of this. It’s great that you honor something so much better than the new crap. I remember watching your crossover review with the Nostalgia Chick. I kept wanting you to review this!

  3. Reminds me of something Glove and Boots did with the Music Video for “To Be With You” by the band Mr. Big which was also as awesome as this!

Great video I definitely enjoyed it. 😀

  4. Nicely done guys. Virtually beat for beat & scene for scene…

  5. I looked the chimpmunk´s video to compare it to yours, yesterday.
Thanks for putting them at the same time 😉
Also, I love to imagine Alvin screaming “FUUUUUCK YOU!”

  6. Wow! It’s been a while since I’ve seen the original Chipmunks movie. I only know of the rock and roll bit, but even then, I didn’t remember much of what happened in it. So I gotta say, this was actually pretty close to accurate!

That bit with Michael Bay exploding when the analysts bump into him… had me rolling on the floor with laughter.

  7. I thought that performance looked familiar! Then again I haven’t seen that movie in like 30 years. The only thing I really remember from it is the “It’s a Jungle Out There” song.

  8. I knew he was gonna do this like he did with the TMNT Intro.

  9. I was never into Alvin and the Chipmunks. In fact, I regret to say, I don’t think I’d even heard of them until the live-action movie! Thank you for letting me know about the song “Girls and Boys of Rock and Roll”. It’s amazing! However, I can’t help but wish there was a non-chipmunk cover of it out there. There are attempts at digitally modifying the song to sound like real voices, but they sound weird since the Chipmunks and Chimpettes are pitched differently. I searched YouTube and iTunes for such a cover and found no such luck.

    • There’s always the original version.

      • Meh, in contrast to that, the Chipmunks version isn’t so bad and is a lot more epic. Also, looking further, it seems the song was first featured in a scene that goes completely against the female-positive message of it: /watch?v=WSLf9f4gvIk

  10. Pretty accurate.

  11. Amazingly accurate and great work by all of you on this. The animation in older movie is pretty good, been forever since I’ve watched it. And, got to say, the young woman playing human Jeanette is pretty cute. 🙂

  12. Fantastic! this deserves a subscribe.
On a side note, the human verification for this website was very unique, I surprisingly enjoyed it.

  13. im pretty sure the villains were a girl and a boy not two boys

    • It was, a brother and sister, those two guys were their lackeys that sent out to make sure the Chipmunks and Chipettes performed the jewel smuggling operation smoothly and didn’t flake out on them that think this musical scene takes place after the Chipmunks and Chipettes found out what was really going on if I remember correctly.

      • (correction: Sorry its 8am in the morning here and I haven’t gotten my coffee yet) It was, a brother and sister, those two guys were their lackeys that the main villains sent out to make sure the Chipmunks and Chipettes performed the jewel smuggling operation smoothly, and didn’t flake out on them. I think this musical scene takes place after the Chipmunks and Chipettes found out what was really going on if I remember correctly.

  14. Honore de Ballsack

I’ve wondered for years why Alvin and the chipmunks wore what look like floor length sweater dresses.

  15. You guys must have had a blast choreographing and putting this together

  16. Dude — seriously, you forget how damn good the animation for that movie was.

  17. Wow, a very amazing and superb job! And yeah, I forgot how amazing and fast the animation was for a movie made way back then. Good animation will always trump over CGI.

  18. They actually did a really great job on this. The touches with the villains/ charts guys was especially cool, and made me search out the original chipmunk song they parodied here…it was also a nice update from the last time he did this with just a nostalgia chick, which was okay, but not great.

  19. How the flipping hell did you do this?

  20. How do they do these things technologically? I mean wow scene for animated scene of 1987’s The Great Chipmunk Adventure’s “Boys vs Girls of Rock n’ Roll” song parody, that’s just too ingenious for a continues bunch of online web-show media critic reviewers, even after despite the fact that these people, past or present have been doing this and building up for about 8 years or so I’m still amazed and impressed by what any of these guys or even girls have accomplished, They can sometimes can really do better than major Hollywood studios in all levels of entertainment, better than Hollywood folks and that’s no small feat in North America or England or anywhere else. I still say they should try to get some attention of traditional mainstream media companies like TV and Movie Theater attention. If I was the business or creative consultant or executive of Channel Awesome, I would convince or hopefully persuade the Walker Brothers or Mike Michaud or Mike Ellis or Bhargav Dronamraju (If they still work and plan there) to release their three main anniversary feature films: Kickassia, Suburban Knights, and To Boldly Flee to major movie theater or select theater chains for profit of course, I’m sure the American people will pay and watch anything. By the way I really like this editing feature for comments, nice improvement.

  21. this definitely made me feel nostalgic. great job all around.
