  1. I picked his game up on release date and my girlfriend and I still haven’t played it due to our backlog *cough*darksouls3*cough*. We’re definitely excited to play since there’s co-op.

Great review, Chris and hopefully I’ll get around to playing this game soon.

  2. I’ve actually never noticed your Star Fox shirts before… Hmm… Aw, your first video game. Ah, that’s special. My very first video game was a Powerpuff Girls: Relish Rampage on the Playstation 2. I would consider buying this if I had a Wii U.

  3. Chicken Puppet

    Good review.

I might have rated the game a little higher, but I think it’s because I found the motion controls to be quite good, and when you say motion controls I think you should have made it clear these are not waggle controls, but really precise gyroscopic aiming. The motion controls got a bad rap here, but they are actually not the problem at all.

I do agree that the switching to cockpit view was overall something that is distracting and detracting. You can alleviate some of that by swapping gamepad and TV screens with a single button press, but I’d rather have the option to stick to single screen.

Finally, I really liked the Gyrowing mission. Maybe because I love harriers and helicopters in real life, (too many episodes of Airwolf as a kid?) but there is nothing broken about it. The key is that you can switch to overhead view and behind the ship view with the left trigger and actually maneuver very efficiently while dropping bombs on stuff. I actually wish they had done this left trigger method to swap to cockpit view in the Arwing.

Most of your other points were spot on. It’s a lot of fun, and it challenges you to replay and find hidden medals, paths, unlock extra missions and other zones.
