Star Trek (TAS): How Sharper Than A Serpent’s Tooth – SF Debris

Opinionated Animated Series Episode Guide shows an Indian crewmember meeting his flying serpent God. Still less offensive than most of Voyager.

  1. True Story: I once went to the Mayan ruin of Chichenitza, and it turns out they worship a winged serpent there. And it just so happened I was wearing my Trogdor the Burninator t-shirt.

  2. kaaaaaaaaaaaaaann!!!!

  3. Also, it’s worth noting that this isn’t the only time that the TOS crew meets a Meso-American deity. In one of the video games, they meet Quetzalcoatl. Which is odd, because Quetzalcoatl and Kukulkan are supposedly the same deity.

    • That is either the case of, “They were really two beings of the same species that were conflated together over the ages.”

      OR,

“Didn’t they do this on the animated series?”
      “Nobody cares.”
      “Oh, yeah. I forgot.”

  4. You could call him Quetzalcoatl if Kukulkan is too funny for you o.o

  5. Snorgatch Pandalume

Take that, Erich von Daniken! Aliens were needed to build the Egyptian pyramids and the Mayan and Aztec temples, but apparently not the Coliseum or the Pantheon, because Europeans are so fucking smart, huh? Fuck you, asshole!

  6. Surprised you missed the obvious self-reference joke when saying that the Enterprise was chasing literal SF Debris…

  7. Hmmm… this is your 18th TAS review out of 22 episodes.

Looks like TAS will be the first Trek series you review in its entirety!
