  1. I’m sorry, but the “Make a buck” argument is tired, lazy and cliche. It’s called show *BUSINESS* for a reason.

  2. Another one? I thought there were only three and I’ve never seen any of them. I feel bad for Starship Trooper fans and of course, this comes from Sony. 🙄

  3. Honestly, before I saw this video, I didn’t know that there had been four Starship Troopers films. I only saw the first one and part of the second. The first ST was just giant bugs killing people and people killing giant bugs. How do you stretch that out for five movies?

  4. As for the boardgame, in 1997 Avalon Hill made a tabletop wargame movie tie-in called Starship Troopers: Prepare For Battle! Its a simplified “hex-and-counter” wargame. If you want more complexity (that is also more true to the book), get the 1976 Starship Troopers wargame.

In 2005, Mongoose Publishing made a miniature wargame and role-playing game under the “D20” system. Even if one is not into tabletop RPGs, such rulebooks are filled with fairly detailed background info and technical notes. Hell, the Thrawn Trilogy was made possible due to Star Wars RPG sourcebooks!

  5. As far as the sequels go, I’ve seen Starship Troopers 2, which was awful, and Starship Troopers: Invasion, which was just okay. the highlight was definitely the sequence with Johnny Rico in a mech suit battling the bugs. All you really need is the first film though, classic Paul Verhoeven satire.

  6. Is it just me or does the sound raises and lowers randomly at various points in the video ?
