Suede’s Pokemon Journey, Ep. 24: Haunter versus Kadabra

Good thing there’s always a magic hobo to help you out when your undead abonmination flakes on you…

  1. First one here! I really liked this episode and the others before it. Pokemon really needs to bring back the FANTASY point of ghosts and spirits into the series. This was…something new.

  2. “abonmination”?

  3. I’ve never heard of the Columbus egg either… Interesting…

    • Apparently it is not very well-known in the English-speaking world, which is even mentioned on the German version of the wikipedia page about it. It is a well-known figure of speech in German and apparently many other European languages, though.

  4. Interesting audio clip from the first Adams Family film. I don’t usually get your obscure references, so points for getting that one? Oh, and the reference to Phoenix Wright and Friendship is Magic.

  5. I can’t wait to hear Suede’s take on the infamous jelly-filled donuts scenes.

  6. Considering we never see Ash use a Pokeball to capture Haunter officially, and Haunter is always shown to be floating around instead of being confined into a Pokeball, I think it’s easy to assume Haunter was not officially Ash’s Pokemon.

Pokeballs are supposed to act like “leash” or a binding contract of some sort with Pokemon. Pokemon that are captured are programmed by the Pokeball’s coding to pledge loyalty to their trainer, until or unless the trainer decides to set them free, thus voiding the contract, or passing the Pokemon in its original Pokeball along to a new trainer (trading).
