Suede’s Pokemon Journey, Ep.70: Go West Young Meowth

I haven’t felt this bad for a cat-based villain since Black Panther!

About Suede

  1. Yeah, it’s pretty good.

  2. I remember seeing “Go West Young Meowth”. When I think about Pokemon, I think about Jigglypuff and this episode. Little kid me really thought this was some sort of Shakespearean tragedy. Haha. Also, the after-credit skit for this video was pretty dang perfect.

  3. Cinnamon Scudworth

This one is in the top five easily. You never look at Meowth the same way again.

In part of Meowth’s song he says “This cat’s got puppy love,” and though 4Kids would never miss a chance for an easy pun, the use is incorrect. “Puppy love” means a temporary and fleeting flirtation, and Meowth is crushing on Meowzie HARD.

  4. I believe I only saw this episode once as a child. What’s interesting to me is that I remembered almost nothing about the plot itself, but the pathos stuck with me. Even as an adult, I viewed Meowth as a pitiable character, even though I couldn’t recall his backstory. I heartily agree that it was a well told story, and one I’m not likely to forget again.

  5. The hell’s up with that joke?

  6. Not only that, they stringed up a KITTEN Meowth, that is like infant abuse and animal cruelty all in one?

  7. On the car number plate being 052-NYA, the NYA is short for Nyarth, Meowth’s Japanese name.
