About Lotus Prince

I enjoy playing video games, and I particularly favor survival horror games.

  1. Wow, two posts in one week. This game has an interesting premise but… yeah, I see why it’s being remade.

    • And I don’t see why there is no System Shock 3 yet? Yes, first two games were flap (too ahead of they time) but after Deus Ex and Bioshock success (which are its spiritual successor) they definitely should bring it back. I was surprised ad first that EA allow someone make remaster and remake, so I hope they research the ground.. ugh, SS3 would be awesome! Though they should change SHODAN design as that new one don’t look particularly well.

      • PS: I hope her voice become more creepy with time progress.. but still it was close, so close 😀

      • I think there are talks of System Shock 3. I’d certainly be up for seeingwhere that goes. 🙂

        • There is a System Shock 3 in development currently, but it is in the early stages. Warren Spector (the director of Ultima Underworld 1 and 2, System Shock 1, Deus Ex, and Thief) is part of a new development company called Otherside Entertainment which is working with Nightdive in helping with the System Shock Remake WHILE they make System Shock 3. They are also in the process of making another Ultima Underworld style game came Underworld Ascendant.

Huge System Shock fan here, as well as a huge fan of Mr. Spector and Looking Glass’s other work. 😛

  2. Whisky Tango Foxtrot

System Shock had voice acting long before the Enhanced version. It may not have had it in the original floppy disk version but a fully voiced CD-ROM version was released at about the same time.

I believe that System Shock’s engine was created for the game, but it was made by the same people who made the Ultima Underworld games and features a lot of the same RPC-style gameplay.

    • I think I confused the CD release with the Enhanced Edition. The voice acting was released, but after the floppy version which everyone who would’ve purchased the game had already bought, and that was a shame.

Thanks for the info about Ultima, as well!
