  1. disembodiedvoiceofreason

I had a TRP as a kid and loved it. The cartoon was enjoyable show.(as a small child)

  2. Before Freddy Fazbear there was Teddy Ruxpin. But the horror was the same…

  3. Xeno-the-Hedgehog

That moment when you realize MLP:FIM stole the Elements of Harmony from Teddy Ruxpin.

  4. I remember being aware of the Teddy Ruxpin toy, but the cartoon series is something that I keep forgetting about until somebody brings it up. Kind of like the Silence from Doctor Who, I guess. This whole live-action version really is news to me, and given the amount of effort it looks like got put into this, I guess it only makes sense that it would be too expensive to produce a full series like it. This is one of those things where it seems entirely possible that they were, in fact, making /too much/ effort for their own good.

  5. Teddy Ruxpin has returned! I actually had one as a kid but it didn’t talk. This show did look creepy. I’m going to bed now… Sweet dreams? I guess because I was expecting a jumpscare. O.O Also, I see that you’ll be reviewing one of my all-time favorite movies next week. ^.^

  6. Yeah well we can see you don’t fasten your seatbelt at the end, so it totally means that your character is about to die in a car crash.

  7. The fairy’s voice. It sounds so familiar…. wait is that Abigale’s voice from Ducktails?! NO THE THEME SONG!!! It’s back. Why won’t it leave me alone……

  8. Sunghyo Alexander

I can’t wait for the Halloween special.

  9. my mom always talked about how i had one… I don’t remember having one LOL

  10. OH MY GOOOOD!!!!!! That fairy is Webby from Ducktales!

  11. Oh, my gosh! Wild Wild West is next! I’ve been hoping you would do that trainwreck for a long time!

  12. those gems are much more like the Elements of Harmony from MLP, but given NC doesn’t watch that, I can understand his lack of connection.

  13. I had Teddy Ruxpin and Grubby and used to watch the cartoon as a kid… I wasnt aware of a live action series though. Unfortunately I wasn’t as mentally scarred as NC here. 😀

  14. So strange, “Was That Real?” and editorials are more like NC I loved than new crappy NC episodes. So keep ’em coming, I think

  15. Do MTV animation like the max, the head, arron flux, liquid tv, and all others. They had great block animation before they turn into just showing crap tv.

  16. ilovethings andstuff

8:43.. i thought they were gonig to yell “it’s time to shift into turbo” lol

  17. Holy crap, I used to love the jokes about Teddy Ruxpin being creepy and enjoyed that old video of him battling a possessed Teddy Ruxpin toy for a Halloween special (seriously I still go back and watch that every time) but after seeing this live-action show how did the U.S not get flooded in the 80s/90s with a million kids bedwetting themselves after seeing this?

  18. Tony Ciccariello

I still have Nightmares of Teddy joining up with Snuggles the bear while I sleep and castrating me with a rusty spoon

  19. Doug? This is like the 5th time in the past few months that you’ve made a joke about a character sounding like some other character, or a combination of a character and an actor, who are also somehow on drugs or smoking Marlboros. And yet, it’s also the 5th time you’ve failed to notice who the actor playing said character actually was.

In this case, that fairy that you claim sounds like Judy Garland on Quaaludes, is actually Minnie Mouse’s voice actress, Russi Taylor. And I don’t think that’s just her voice either. That’s actually her, in costume, floating around on a harness.

She also did the voices for the Nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louis; along with Webby, on “Ducktales.”

  20. Intimidating bear without a doubt.
HEY NC, I need an episode of WTR talking about “Dog City”. I never encounter anyone that remember it and I fuckin’ loved it

  21. Blaze The Movie Fan

    Wow, this show looks creepy.

  22. I remember the cartoon…and it was…cute I guess? The live action…that;s fucking nightmare inducing..But with the look at this…i think we dodged a bullet with this not making more shows..

  23. I had a Teddy Ruxpin.
    There I said it.
(I also fed it my sandwiches, and knew he was not real… but parent thought I thought he was, go figure)

  24. I’m surprised that this is not Jim Henson’s nightmare creature shop farts.

  25. Hey Doug Walker how many Jim Henson wet dreams or fever dreams do you know?

  26. Now review The Hugga Bunch Movie. You can watch it on YouTube.

  27. This is a pointless show and i don’t care for it and the bear
Let me guess you true the doll away or sold it
Teddy was a bear that was possessed by the Devil and you two are not buddies

  28. Collage is a waste of money, trade schools are where it’s at. I make good money as maintenance and Im not massively in debt with a bunch of useless degrees.
