The Legend of Tarzan and The Purge: Election Year – Midnight Screenings

Team Snob checks out the new Tarzan movie, plus the latest Purge sequel.

Brad and Irving catch an earlier than usual screening of The Legend of Tarzan.

Time for this year’s annual purge!

About thecinemasnob

Brad Jones portrays The Cinema Snob, a pretentious film snob who is stuck with reviewing Z-Grade exploitation flicks of the past. I'm a big guy. For you.

  1. I want to see The Legend of Tarzan later this month. No review could possibly change my mind on that.

I already know that the Purge franchise isn’t my thing. I can’t take barely any gore. Although, I didn’t know it was satire. I think that a little backstory is always good. Just a bit though.

  2. Not sure what he has against ‘Secret life of pets’, honestly ? The trailers looked like fun and amusing.

    • That is kinda confusing considering in one Midnight Screening he said when he saw the trailer for it, he was eager to see it because it reminded him of what Lloyd does when he is out of the house. Maybe he changed his mind about it?

      Guess we will see……

  3. Actually, the moment Brad mentioned people singing and dancing, what I wanted to see was a HSM crossover with The Purge movies.

That would be gloriously entertaining to watch!

Tarzan is not public domain to my knowledge. When Disney made their version they had to license it from the estate of Edgar Rice Burroughs, and that notice was on all Tarzan merch from Disney. Unless that’s changed since then, it would be the same now. It wouldn’t surprise me if the little TM on Tarzan in this movie was the insistence of Burroughs’ estate.
