One of the all time greatest horror films. Remains truly chilling to this day. Obviously incredible performances from Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall, but there’s also just something tangibly evil about the Overlook hotel that seeps through every frame, besides the blood elevator I mean. Required viewing for anyone interested in the genre.

When I was a kid, the only thing I sneaked was the Gargoyles TV show. Anyways, I’ve never had an interest in The Shining since I can understand cultural references without ever seeing it.

Well there is one flaw with what is otherwise a great horror movie. As the NC’s review of the mini series pointed out Jack Nicholson was not the right guy for this roll. Looking at him, you can tell right from the start he’s gonna go berserk.
