Hopefully the upcoming animated reboot will be a lot better. It does look like it could be fun like Hotel Transylvania or Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

  5. Wow, Black Nerd really stepped up his game this year

  6. Watched this in the toilet, realized I didn’t make the poop noises

  7. Aw, no Black Nerd.

  8. I’ve been expecting you…

  9. I love how the Kid Blu has no reaction to see the Smurfs for the first time!

  10. I didn’t realize that was really Black Nerd at first. O.O Also, I can buy the Smurfette plot stuff because it seems like she’s really pretty but not all that smart. Thank God that kid who plays Blue is now a better actor. Plus, I’m even more excited about next week because I have more to say on Garfield 2 since I grew up with it as a kid. LOL

  11. I always love seeing Bill. Each time he’s in one of your reviews, my day just gets a little bit better.

  12. behonest, i do like the smurf movies…only i was hoping more Belgium style

  13. the kid’s like four, critic. lay off or he’ll grow into another mara wilson and kick your ass.

  14. Hey, you referenced the charity shout out! The original was better because of the Black Nerd. You used that same joke in “Ferngully 2”. I knew it would be this, “The Flintstones In Viva Rock Vegas”, or “Alice Through The Looking Glass”. Wow, that’s the third time you used that Jake Lloyd clip. And yet it’s okay to mock “Pokemon”.

  15. That Bill guy really left a impression on me.

  16. Did NC make a Frasier-reference? Awesome!

  17. I think Doug’s being a bit too hard on the kid.

What the hell happened to the black nerd!?

  19. Aw, and we all thought it was gonna be Alice Through the Looking Glass. Face it, breakfast is ruined.

I never thought I’d ever see THIS side of The Black Nerd, but there’s a first for everything, right? Oh, and I also feel bad for the Nostalgia Biatch, especially when he makes fun of the kid who later stared in the movie “Room.”

I agree that the intro to Vexy and Hackus. Say what you will about the Transformers movies, but the ending of the first movie explained why we see new Autobot and Decepticon characters in every sequel.

Why is Neil Patrick Harris’s step dad dressed like 80’s Dan? Well, at least actor Brendan Gleeson went on to star in Edge of Tomorrow.

I fuckin’ knew you were gonna compare Blue to Anakin Skywalker from Episode I. Seriously, Doug, LET IT GO! And in speaking of me being a diehard Star Wars fan, thank you Darth Vader for giving Gargamel the double-bird.

Now for my joke for the scene of Hackus humping the Gargamel action figure: Well, at least it’s not a shot of Trump humping the American flag. (Back off, SpikeGal.)

I take it that Harris being snooty to his fun loving step dad is another reason why Rosamund Pike slit his throat during sex in Gone Girl.

Have fun with the review on “Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties” next time. Also, I would have loved to see someone like Bill (Who the fuck is Bill) in the Women’s March.

  20. Am I the only person who noticed the kid is Jacob Tremblay? As in, “won a ton of awards for Room” Tremblay?
EDIT: Finished the review, totally did.

  21. Andre doing his best Korey Goodwin impression haha

  22. Nice to know that Black Nerd isn’t going to put up with the same nonsense that he had to put up with in 2016. Makes me all the more happy that I learned who he was thanks to the crossover with Doug with the first Smurfs review.

All that said though. How did I not see this coming for Sequel month?! Can’t wait to start watching it! 😀

  23. huh, more to erase!

  24. the black nerd is not funny… EVER

  25. James Earl Jones did play Vernon Johns, Martin Luther King Jr.’s predecessor at one point, so I could see Darth Vader giving the double finger salute being appropriate.

  26. I wanted spy kids 4 but garfield 2 will do.

  27. We all love you, Bill!

  28. Wait, next week is not going to have an editorial?
2 review in 2 weeks, like it was back then?

  29. Critic, you DO realize the kid who plays Blue in this movie is Jacob Trembly right? He is the boy from the critically acclaimed movie “Room” with him and Brie Larson. He actually doesn’t seem THAT bad here, not good but at least okay. Either he had some seriously good coaches after this movie or he was just given horrible direction, I assume it’s the latter.

  30. Hello, onions make you teary-eyed, and most likely they were used as a means of child-friendly torture in this film. Then again that’s still pretty dumb.
