  1. Aw the pointless crossover…Haven’t they learned from the numerous badly done crossovers from fan fiction? As in unless the characters add something unique to the story then just don’t do it.

  2. Elizabeth of York

I’ll be honest, the tunnel scene cracked me up. It’s just so insane I have to love it.

  3. During the tunnel scene all I could hear was Lil from Rugrats reciting the poem (same actress)

  4. Going to be honest. I found Tuffy’s voice during the tunnel scene to be a distraction. The animation was fine, but not the voice. It hurt what was otherwise a crazy scene.
For me, there is nothing redeemable about this movie.

  5. Wait, wait, wait, wait.

    “ORIGINAL MOVIE”????? Really?

  6. Hey, hey, let’s not be racist. That’s clearly a SPANISH stereotype, not Mexican.

  7. As funny ass inserting Droopy into the fake ticket scene is, it avoids the other easter egg of the original fakester being ‘Sluworth’ when we are shown the image of the finder.

  8. Maybe the next review should be Caddyshack!

  9. This could of been done in the style of ‘Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead’.

  10. Well to be fair, Hanna Barbara would have had done this anyway in their “prime.” They did have Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble in their version of Alice in Wonderland as the caterpillar. Plus, they did ruin Godzilla anyway.

    • To be fair, Fred and Barney (as the caterpillar) were only in one scene of that TV special and made no other appearances after the aforementioned scene. It was a cameo, not really the same thing as what was done here.

    • That’s not really a fair or accurate comparison, since Fred and Barney (as the caterpillar) were only in one scene of that TV special and made no other appearances beyond the aforementioned scene. It’s not like Hanna-Barbera tried to shoehorn those characters into the main plot and brazenly put their names in front of the film’s title. It was a cameo, not the same thing as what was done here.

  11. I’m Glad Doug is finally digging into one of these fuckers. I’m sorry but who ever thought Tom and Jerry needed to be put into other franchises needs to be shot in the middle of street I hate these damn movies so much.

  12. The music & lyricists that did Tom & Jerry and The Wizard of Oz as their first project? Yeah, they just won Oscars for La La Land.

Any wonder why the music from that movie never stuck with me?

  13. new Top 11 Mindfucks?

  14. I’m surprised the Roald Dahl estate hasn’t filed a lawsuit for defiling his book. BTW, kudos to voice actress Kath Soucie (Phil and Lil from ‘Rugrats’) for elevating that tunnel scene.

    • The Real Silverstar

The wha? Arbitrarily sticking Tom & Jerry into the story is a cheap cash-grab, sure, but I wouldn’t call this ‘defiling’ Dahl’s work in any way, shape or form. It’s just cheap DTV that’ll keep sugar-addled kids occupied for an hour or so, nothing more. This video didn’t do the original story any more damage than Tim Burton’s adaptation did.

  15. I really thought they were going to skip the tunnel scene. But they definitely did not. O.O I loved this review. So retro.

  16. Please, do Tom and Jerry with Johnny Quest. They actually did that.

  17. I could not stop laughing at this version of the tunnel scene. Oh my laws it was glorious

  18. Here’s a good crossover… Tom and Jerry in Deliverance! ?

  19. The Real Silverstar

    Tom & Jerry: Psycho

Make this happen, Warner Brothers. I dare ya.

  20. I get the impression someone just wanted to remake the tunnel scene with a demented cartoon mouse and built the rest of the movie around that idea.

  21. Two things
    1. Anyone else hear Cubert’s voice from Futurama in the tunnel scene?
2.That last soul sucking face needs to be a meme

  22. The tunnel scene made me laugh so hard.

  23. Slightly disappointed, I was kinda hoping for something like a mini NC Editorial like in the Pixels review where he kinda dissects why this is so bad and why the internet is so angry at it.

    • Are people really angry at this? If there’s any internet hate for this DTV, this is the first that I’ve heard of it. All or most of the ravings for this DTV must be on message boards, which I’m not on anymore.

I knew that this DTV (and several others like it) existed, but I haven’t heard anyone throwing tantrums over it. I can see people being angry over Tom & Jerry: The Movie, but this? This is nothing but a cash grab for Warner Brothers. It’s more weird that this thing even exists, but it’s pretty easy to ignore. Comparing this video to Pixels is a reach, I think. This wasn’t good, but it’s certainly not on the same level of badness as Pixels. Not by a long shot.

  24. Nah, the original tunnel scene is still creepier.

  25. Rocko the Great

I hope you review Yin Yang Yo! next Critic. (:

  26. Honore de Ballsack

Slugworth was German in the Wilder Wonka movie.
Also, is it just me or does cartoon Grandpa George look like Bubbles in Trailer Park Boys?
Why would Grandpa Joe lose the ticket? He was obsessed with that ticket!
Frankly, I always thought Grandpa Joe was being a jerk talking Charlie into stealing fizzy lifting drinks.

  27. Two great tastes that taste gross together.

  28. What is really messed up about the laws of animals in this world, is that most of talking walking animals seen have clothes on, Droopy, Spike, even a cameo by Toodles Galore in a tight red dress and boots is seen distracting Tom as usual hense why they loose the coin to Charlie.

And the only ones that don’t wear clothes? Jerry and Tom. Even though its completely normal, in this verse stacked up against the neighborhood and characters in Willy Wonka… kinda implies that Tom and Jerry are naked homeless people in this movie-verse.

  29. Fun Fact: Tom and Jerry are actually very popular in Japan. They sell tons of merchandise with the cat and mouse duo on it over there. In fact, Tom and Jerry was so popular in Japan that the series even made it on to the results of NHK’s 100 Best Anime Poll in 2005.

  30. Blaze The Movie Fan

I hate Tom and Jerry, but the 1970’s movie is a classic, who the hell thought it was a good idea to mix the two?
