Tomb Raider – Projector

Alicia Vikander is the new Lara Croft, but Film Brain finds very little in this tomb that’s worth salvaging.

About Film Brain

"Bad Movie Beatdown" takes a look at the very worst that Hollywood has to offer with commentary and analysis. "Projector" is reviews of current UK releases that have yet to open in the US. There may also be some commentaries and other material.

  1. From what I’ve seen, the only people whom are rating this film highly are the fans of the video game, which I never cared for. I’ve seen Vikander in a few movies before, and aside from Ex Machina (which was a well written character examination), I don’t see what all the hubbub is about her. Not to say she’s a bad actress, she seems too serious to be a classic action star.

I think you’re probably right, Mathew, and I’ll skip this one. Thanks for the review!

    • I’m not sure about it considering how much it disregard core plot even of the new series. I understand that aliens may be too much but at least they should fallow plot of acclaimed game instead making same mistake as Ghost in the Shall, by turning two good story arcs in one mediocre. Anyway at least I have fun drinking game making a shoot every time they make some bullshit regard the lore. It was a good whole bottle..

  2. Wow, of all the movies this thing would swipe elements from, it had to be Tom Cruise’s Mummy. Yeah, I’m not touching this. Honestly I don’t even find this Vikander chick all that cute.
