Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon Review w/The Nostalgia Critic (Philips CD-I): Awesome Video Game Memories

The Nostalgia Critic sends Ryan a very special gift to review: The Philips CD-I with Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon and many other fun games. From all it’s wacky cutscenes and crazy animation, will Ryan be able to survive this review forced upon him at gunpoint or will Ryan yell “You killed me!”? Good.

  1. I thought I’d come here because it’s technically a crossover. I know about these CD-I games because of some other Channel Awesome video but I never knew there was anything else to this game besides the cutscenes. I thought it was a point and click adventure game with the cutscenes this whole time. O.O Also, I liked those Room references.

  2. Yeah, I love Zelda games but I don’t know if I need to experience these particular ones first hand. I’m content observing from a safe distance, they look physically painful to play.

That animation is just mesmerizingly awful. I can only imagine what Miyamoto and the other nintendo execs of the time were thinking.

You know, come to think of it, I don’t actually mind Zelda’s “Good” line upon the Wizard’s death. It’s the kind of thing a badass 90s action hero would say. Simple, and to the point. She’d ideally light up a smoke afterwards, tossing it into some bullet riddled oil drums setting the whole place ablaze.

  3. Michaud: Doug, our website is under attack by the evil forces of Allison. I’m going to take action.

Doug: But Michaud what if something happens?

Michaud: I have a response to protect me-I mean this company. And if no one agrees to it, kill the forums, blogs and store.

    Doug: Rob!

Rob: Don’t worry Doug, my Facebook page promises that we are Fucked!
