Finally, an internet critic I agree with on this movie. I haven’t personally hated the live action movies, but I haven’t loved them either. I’ve just been meh about them, but I went into Aladdin expecting to dislike it due to the bad trailer, and just the fact that I have such strong nostalgia for the original movie. I’m glad I saw it anyways though. Will Smith and the actress who played Jasmine just slayed it for me. I’m considerably more meh about the actor who played Aladdin, but I think he did an alright job. Jafar was clearly miscast though. The actor isn’t that bad IMHO, but I just don’t think Disney picked the right one for that role. Overall though, I like this film. It’s not better than the original, but it’s still a decent movie in its own right IMHO.
