  1. Damn that movie was stupid. I feel your pain.

Ah, death battle, it’s ok but still follows most fight cliches. The biggest being the who uses their super move second wins, and I be right most of the time just guessing the more popular one.

One other thing, man is kenny annoying. Even in the mst3k version he’s just the worst. Infact i’m willing to go so far as to say he’s worse than that son of godzilla ( i don’t know how to spell his name) and the fact that there’s someone like him in every gamera movie. I can see why godzilla was more popular. And why did every single one have to wear short shorts? every single one.

  4. 0:59: Was that a star destroyer?

I have seen a bit of Gamera myself, largely from MST3K. I can see how it become popular and had so many sequels, but its still below Godzilla, yet above Gorgo.

  6. is it just me, or does the end song sound like the 60’s Batman theme. o.o

  7. Gamera’s design inspired one of my favorite Pokémon, Blastoise, so I can’t hate on this movie TOO much.

    Gamera is Really Neat!
    Gamera is Full of Meat!

Oh my Blundergosh! Gamera looks so awkward no matter what he’s doing.

0:59 – Was that an Imperial Star Destroyer? *rewinds a couple of times* Why yes it is!

  11. I actually started watching this movie on Hulu some months ago but- I couldn’t stand the kid. 😛 Looks like I didn’t miss much.

(on the other hand, I did watch Gamera Super Monster, and while if anything sillier, at least the kid in it didn’t drive me nuts!)

  12. Gamera is the Friday the 13th of kaiju films. A blatant rip-off of a more superior franchise (Friday the 13th – Halloween, Gamera – Godzilla).

Not really. Friday the 13th didn’t originally feature a masked man slaughtering people with a big knife. It featured his mother killing people; the mask thing didn’t even come about until much later. Not to mention, Michael Meyers killed people in a suburban environment, whereas Jason (and his mother) killed people in the woods. Totally different. And let’s not even talk about Halloween III: Season of the Witch.

  13. That MST3K episode was my introduction to Gamera, as well.

  14. It’s obvious. The rocket was made for Godzilla, but he wasn’t stupid enough to just stand there and let it cover him.

Love the south park reference but i’m glad you’ll be doing a different movie after you do a gamera movie each time. But the japenese kernal flanders looks more like Hiyao Mizaeki to me.
