Naturally this is just the lead-in, the prélude if you will, to the Cannon Group musical that everyone’s just been dying for you to review!
I speak, of course, of Lambada: The Forbidden Dance. Or does that not count as Cannon Group, since only Golan worked on it? But…come on, it has Sid Haig as a crazy witch doctor!
I kinda like how the clearly coded gay character dances in a sensual but fun way with the leading lady. You could read some “no homo” vibes from it, but I also like the idea of sensuality being genderless. It’s physical connection and communication that isn’t completely based in sexuality.
