Man, I had bad taste 9 years ago!

  2. It remind me of the movies like Cody Banks

  3. You know I wasn’t that angry at this review and didn’t care that you weren’t angry…that was until you mentioned The Last Airbender movie. I tried 4 different times to watch that movie and fell asleep each time. Curse you Nickelodeon and your stupid movie that couldn’t even get the names right. I mean the whole movie felt like it could have been directed by Tommy Wiseau and if it was, it couldn’t have been any worse.

  4. Please review Doctor Who – The Day of the Doctor at some point. I loved Day of the Doctor but it would be fun to see a Nostalgia Critic view on it.

    • If the NC reviews anything Doctor Who related, I think he should look at the 1996 movie with Paul McGann. While I personally found the film enjoyable (albeit a little stupid in some parts), the reaction at the time was mixed at best. As such, considering the time it came out and the people’s reactions to it, it would probably be suitable for an NC video.

      • It was OK, i guess. The best thing that came out of it was Paul McGann’s Doctor who is fantastic in the Big Finish Audios.

      • Honestly, I’d rather him review the Peter Cushing Doctor Who movies. ‘Doctor Who and the Daleks’ and ‘Daleks: Invasion Earth 2150’. Since they’re non canon, super campy, and explain the basics of franchise… a bit wrongly, but well enough for a newbie. I don’t think you’d need to be a fan to tackle them.

    • Doug has never shown any interest at all in Doctor Who save for one joke about Tom Baker.

    • Doug hasn’t seen any Doctor Who, he wouldn’t be much qualified to talk about it or give any real insight to it or know what to joke about.. or really have any context as to what was going on in the fiftieth anniversary.

The site has other reviewers like SF Debris or Diamanda Haggan or Linkara that have reviewed Who at length and done many episodes on it, they’re better suited to do it than Doug.

  5. I’m surprised there weren’t more star trek jokes courtesy of Director Riker over there.

  6. I remember renting this movie from Blockbuster (when it was still a thing) back when I was a kid. I enjoyed it. I’m glad that it was acknowledged in an NC video. Despite the fact that there was little anger in it, it was still really funny.

I want him to review that dumbass live action Thunderbirds movie that Jonathan Frakes also directed.

  8. Guns that shoot liquid nitrogen and going so fast you faze through things was the Flash TV show inspired by this.

  9. The only spy thing I give a shit about is Archer

  10. So, it’s a Flash movie with his arch-nemesis Captain Cold, except they couldn’t afford the rights to The Flash or Captain Cold?

  11. I find it hard to believe this was a “highly requested” film….highly requested would be something like Norm of the North or Gods of Egypt. It also felt like one of those reviews where he would apologize at the end for not getting super angry and then promise a much angrier review and it turns out to be an utter piece of garbage.

    Kind of an underwhelming review

    • I think people have requested this film because it was a part of their childhoods that was kind of hokey, so they just assumed it was bad. It really wasn’t bad, but it was a memorable movie.

Either that, or Nickelodeon promoted the hell out of it, so we remembered it. Call it the Swan Princess effect.

      • I can see it being a Swan Princess kind of situation, but when he and his brother were hyping this on Twitter and it’s like “really?”

it just felt like a very uninteresting review.

  12. Yeah, I remember this movie coming out. Nothing really good or bad. I knew you’d reference “The Last Airbender”. What was the best Nickelodeon movie for you? I don’t even think you liked “Rango”. Nice “Kids Next Door” reference.

  13. Like with Hook and The Adventures Of Rocky And Bullwinkle, I went into this review loving the movie as a kid only to find people hated it years later and wanted to find out why but instead found it actually isn’t as bad as a lot of people say.

I actually remember the dance scene differently where the black guy was moved one movement at a time in hyper-time rather than all at once. That might have just been my mind trying to make sense of it.

Also, I’m pretty sure it’s not a plot-hole at all about the the government agents moving at the same speed as what’s-his-name because they’re explicitly seen activating hyper-time.

  14. Wow, that breakdancing scene is probably the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in a movie.

  15. I actually remember seeing this film being advertised on TV as well as seeing the behind-the-scenes special on Nickelodeon. I had some interest in seeing it, but I wanted to see Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in his first leading role as The Scorpion King even more.

“I’m not gonna act like this is a get angry at the gods kinda movie.” Yeah, you tend to do that a lot on this show, especially at movies most of us actually like.

The selling antiques on Ebay later worked better in the first Transformers movie.

Nice job on the Kendall Jenner reference. In speaking of which, speaking as a Pepsi fan, and a Kardashian hater, I also find that ad really, really stupid.

I actually find “Make it so, Number 1” reference as a cute nod to the director

The record scratching competition scene is nothing like the Quicksilver/kitchen scene from X-Men: Days of Future Past. I speaking of comic book speedsters, I thought I saw someone in the crown wearing a Flash t-shirt.

The nonsensical hypertime in this movie really makes me wish that Flash solo movie would finally have a director so it can be filmed like yesterday. But aside from that, I also find this as an okay Nickelodeon movie from the early 2000’s.

  16. I never even heard about this.

  17. Wait! I remember this story! At the end, the watch breaks and he gets stuck in superspeed so that the rest of the world is frozen in time! And he has to spend eternity in a hell of his own making! Where’s that walking cigarette commercial Rod Serling when you need him?

  18. So a movie about stopping time. Anyone else thought ZAWARUDO!!!

  19. A simple, short review; but still manages to put a smile on my face. Doug, how do you do it?

  20. @12:31 And there it is! XD

  21. I remember seeing this in theaters.

  22. Can you talk about the MTV series Good Vibes and Daria?

On a side note, I mention this all before, why don’t you review a classic horror like this one I’ve finally found after all these years after just seeing a few scenes of it and never knowing how it ended. It’s called Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama. You might like it. Maybe.

Also what do think of these TV series shows called:
    John Doe
    Forever Knight
    The Misfits (British Show)
Misfits of Science (Movie and series)
    and The Zeta Project
(I think some of these shows are like Sonic the Hedgehog a.k.a. Sonic Sat a.m. They all have incomplete ending.)

P.S. Is there anyway you can review the Japanese versions of Ironman, Wolverine, X-men and Blade? I’d also really like to hear what you think about the FX series Archer and Chozen.

P.S.S. And I never found out if you were going talk more about the Disney Afternoon shows Gummi Bears, Chip N Dale’s Rescue Rangers, Talespin(even the hour uncut movie special I found about it) and Darkwing Duck. Also you never answer my question, If you hate the Goof Troop song: “Gotta Be Gettin’ Goofy” then does that mean you hate The Darkwing Duck Rap?

    • Why in the world do you keep posting this literally on EVERY SINGLE VIDEO Doug puts out? We get it, you really, really, REALLY want him to review these things, but…no offense, this is beyond annoying. Me and so many others can only ignore this one too many times before we get annoyed. Either bring something original or stop posting this. It’s ridiculous.

      • I just don’t understand how OmegaX2000 hasn’t been banned yet? Does Channel Awesome not have the ability, or are they watching this in horrified fascination like a slow motion train wreck?

  23. Though I was 16 at the time this came out, I felt like I was too old to be within its target demographic. Although this was during the time that spongebob started to take off (which I hate with a passion), so I didn’t pay much attention to anything Nickelodeon did at the time.

  24. Ay! This was childhood because I vaguely remember it. However, I always get this confused with Catch That Kid for some reason. Anyways, I think I liked this movie as a kid for the fact that it felt like the 90’s.

  25. so… I’m not the only person here who’s never even heard of this movie, right? I mean, this movie was made in the early 2000s on Nickelodeon, (my early childhood). Although, based on how forgettable it looks, maybe I just don’t remember watching it XD

  26. You know, this started as one of those days. The ones when the only thing you have to look forward to is going back to bed. However, before that, I got this video on my Feedly and it gave me a good laugh. A quite needed one.

Thanks for the wonderful work, Mister Walker. Keep up the good job.

  27. It could have used a few Doctor Who and Back To The Future references …but this movie was little to no point of deserving those things. The movie was..meh

  28. Neo-stalgia Fan 1

Oh lord, this is MY childhood nostalgia we’re stepping into. I think the room I was in just got 10 degrees colder, lol. But seriously, this film wasn’t perfect, but I remember having a pretty decent and fun time watching it, and seeing it again, yeah it still holds up decently enough. It’s also really refreshing to get a relatively more relaxed review from NC that’s still pretty funny in most cases.

Gotta say though, that “Nickelodeon presents: ‘What we’re pretty sure kids are into…we think'” gag still applies today with every single Nick-com and live action movie they make. I think at this point they’re trying to out-cheese Disney Channel.

    • me to. I enjoyed it as a kid.

I know it’s a dumb flick and I knew it wasn’t great then either. But I had fun watching it as a kid and it doesn’t feel like a movie that just didn’t try and treats kids like morons.

It’s just a not great movie that’s good enough for kids.

  29. Not gonna lie the Star Trek joke did make me chuckle but yeah even I was young I thought the movie was tad lame. Not awful just meh. Still good review and can we get more DJ Beaker please? Also no I won’t let Nickelodeon forget Last Airbender.AT.ALL. I’m still pissed off by that piece of crap.
