I don’t think they could have had a complicated layered plot AND a flashback/forward structure with tons of fourth wall jokes. The complexity would have alienated a lot of the standard comic book movie audience, and as it’s already an R and banned in China they couldn’t afford to alienate anyone else. And I think the Taken reference was a sign that they were aware of that.
What I wish they’d done is make Morena Baccarin’s character more than a sex-loving, Star Wars referencing male fantasy who is helpless in the climax. There’s no point setting someone up as a tough character early on then having them be zero help by the end.
Also I hope you guys do an X-Men Origins: Wolverine review with a Deadpool who’s aware of being in a Nostalgia Critic review
Well she’s a normal human captured by mutates, whadya expect? Also she wasn’t completely to no help.
Obviously You skipped over the trailer Easter Eggs… That girlfriend was a Mutant Called CopyCat, but you wouldn’t know that because you probably never picked up a comicbook in your life.
BTW Doug, You Know Abosolutely nothing about this movie…. or the Characters or well anything about The Jokes, Not a good review.
While she wasn’t a mutant in the film she was still far from helpless.

NICE ending, NChester. And the movie was fun. My expectations pretty much exactly matched the movie I got, so it worked for me. (And I’m not a 13 year old boy, even! Hooraaaay!)
Ah, so the Nostalgia Critic has fooled us again… for the THIRD TIME! I’m starting to think he’s just dressing up as the Bum to earn some more money while also pointing out flaws in movies in an optimistic point of view, just so people would buy into his act…

I have a no-R rated policy so I won’t be seeing it but I always enjoy a good Bum Review. Were you serious when you said that it was boring? I guess I’m not missing out as much as everyone makes it seem. Also, the ending of this review actually made me gasp. It was so unexpected, Dou… Bum… Critic… guy.
He never said that is was boring. Just that the parts dealing with real life stuff and not breaking the 4th wall were boring.

I love how you reference the jokes that are already there. This must have been hard to do. I love you breaking character at the end. This really is one of your best bum reviews. Yeah, I knew he was going to shoot him too. I admit that some of the serious scenes did seem off.
