I’m not familiar with the source material and I grew up with this movie as a kid so… I admit I kinda like this movie. For me, it’s enjoyably bad.

Why do American movie studios insist on making live-action movies (or Netflix shows) on Anime? Just because a genre is popular, it doesn’t have to be a movie. Magic: The Gathering is a popular card game, yet you don’t see anyone trying to make a movie of that do you?
I’m a big fan of the original anime, so I avoided this movie like the plague. Just watching the trailer I could tell it was a bunch of executive mandated crap that completely misses the point.
