  1. 1 Day too late for Hanukkah…well at least for israel…happy X-mas for all of you guys

  2. My favorite episode of them all
I think Bill is one of the most effective villains of all time
For me is .. just Gravity Falls
Charming, funny, scary, misterious , he appears in a lot of easter eggs
And, i cpukd be wrong, but i think he is the key Or the most important part of the towns past and misteries
“How Could you stop mr… If you dont exist”

  3. Just a warning people’s eyes will get wet. Cause they’ll be crying. From laughing! From how tragic it is.

Excellent episode. The key word today is CIPHER, shown in the reflection when Bipper is examining himself in the mirror.

The government agents return! They make a quick appearance in the crowd during the show. Also, when Dipper goes from the second to the first floor, a radio with the Agent’s symbol on it can be seen hidden beneath the floor. Looks like the Agents bugged the house.

The crowd hated it because if you listen very closely to their shouting, the Lumberjack is shouting how they could have been killed by the finale pyrotechnics

Lastly, Hirsch seems like a person chill enough to try to get the Walker brothers to cameo in the show if they really wanna be on it. Get networking Channel Awesome fans to spread the news!

  4. “Mable, do you want me to be a sock puppet forever!”
“I’m sorry. It looks funny when you’re mad”
    “HHHHMMMMMMMM!”

This is definitely one of the best episodes thus far. There are too many funny moments to count, but the big explosion at the end with the Stan puppet was what got me the most.

    Facehugger Wappa. D:

  6. One thing I liked was that Mabel wants Stan to give her away at her wedding. =)

  7. Bill has the best lines in this show. Seriously.

“Wanna hear my impression of you in about three seconds? ‘AAAAAAAHHHHH!'”

“Here, have a head that’s always screaming!”

“Wow, these arms sure are durable.”

    I love that guy.

  8. The sweater is back, perhaps there is hope for humanity yet.

I really like bill as a villain but I don’t know if I would call him scary, he seems unable to really do anything as long as he’s not possessing a person or inside somebodies mind.

For me the best part of this episode was bipper(dipper possessed by bill), the uncanny way he moves his evil grin his fondness for self-harm and the weird way he drinks soda, oh and of course this awesome shot http://gravityfalls.wikia.com/wiki/File:S2e4_bipper_saves_mabel.png all make him an awesome villain, no wonder there’s so much fan art of him.

I know you were just joking, but it would be awesome if you had a voice cameo in a gravity falls episode, even better would be If you did a cameo as an internet critic.

  9. Someone is so going to show this to Alex now. Nostalgia critic on Gravity falls? I don’t think the internet could handle it.

  10. Nah, Disney would probably only be interested in 14 year old Doug working on the show, since clearly that was when you were at your peak.

  11. Probably my favorite episode from season 2.
I love that Bill returned. So many great jokes.

  12. Since Rob forgot to this vlog….

    **SWATCH ALERT**
Today’s sweater is brought to you by “Horse Head with a Yarn Mane”(main sweater….see what I did there…), “Watermelon”(secondary sweater), “Umbrella”(brief), and “Four Leaf Clover”(briefer).

  13. Gravity Falls is so funny I can’t choose a favourite, but heavens Sock Opera comes close. Mabel’s best line is when she first sees her brother’s possessed form, “Ah, Bill Dipper”, and then frowns, “Bipper..” 🙁 I couldn’t stop smiling. 🙂 The icing on the cake however is when the show broke mediums by going live action for a Muppet Show parody. I did not see that coming. (thanks for referencing it) Alex Hirsch’s creation certainly appeals not just to kids but with jokes and concepts from the time period he’s from as well. I also love the honest relationship he’s set up between the twins, Dipper and Mabel and how in the end they’re both there for each other (it’s easy to believe how it was inspired by his own childhood with his sister).

  14. Sock Opera is one of my favorite episodes ever! They made Bill Cipher as Dipper look incredibly creepy, with that pastor outfit, crazy eyes and a slight hunched back. So cool!

  15. ShakespeareanInsults

Sock opera is my favorite episodes in season 2. :33 oh I can’t wait you guys review Over The Garden Wall. It’s like the Marvelous Misadventures of FlapJack, Adventure Time and Gravity Falls had a baby. It is that good.

So who wants to ask Hirsch via twitter to let Doug on the show?

Sock Opera is probably the reason I started watching the show, thanks to tumblr blowing up over it. Bill really is a very interesting character. (And definitely a good balance between funny and intimidating.)

  17. Yay! The sweater is back! Its almost like the ring from the Hobbit. It’s his precious. Haha. I wouldn’t mind seeing you on the show, Doug.

  18. If it weren’t a kids show, this would have made the greatest ending. Either way a must-see piece of fanart:

  19. This is my favorite episode of Gravity Falls out of the whole series so far, and tomorrow is my birthday. Thank you Doug and Rob, this is the best birthday (and Christmas) present ever!! 😀
I’ll admit that “Into the Bunker” and the upcoming “Search for the Blind Eye” are also strong contenders for the best episode of the show currently, but this is my personal favorite. The writing is phenomenal and has some of the funniest gags, including the “READ?” poster and Ave Maria. I also love when Mabel says “Oh, I’m ready, baby!” while holding up a book titled “Ready Baby: How Babies are Made,” and Bill Cipher giving Dipper a head that’s always screaming.

Speaking of Bill, you better believe fans lost their minds after this episode. Even Alex Hirsch himself was floored by how off the charts the reaction was. It’s funny because it used to be a popular theory that Bill could possess people, though once he was properly introduced in “Dreamscaperers” the idea sort of fell out of style. But then suddenly this episode happened, and the amounts of fan art of “Bipper” (Bill possessing Dipper’s body) was unbelievably. This was something that FOR YEARS the fans had been waiting for, and it did not disappoint in the slightest.

However I personally theorize that Bill might in fact be the biggest red herring in the entire series. He’s clearly being set up as the main villain of the whole show… but that’s WAY too obvious. Let’s not forget how we’ve also had a character who was very similarly set up as the author of the journals…
There’s an official Gravity Falls book called “Dipper and Mabel’s Guide to Mystery and Nonstop Fun!” that outright says Bill isn’t evil – in fact he considers morality “a mental cage controlled by the weak.” He’s a very inhuman creature who operates on a completely different set of values, so he’s not traditionally good or evil – he’s simply working towards his goals by whatever means necessary, not caring if he has to trick someone like Dipper, since he sees humans as lesser and more inconsequential beings.
He does keep bringing up a major event in the near future, possibly the apocalypse, but I’m banking on if it is the end of the world there’s a good chance he’s actually trying to do something prevent it. Bill is an extraordinarily complex and mysterious character, so even though he’s certainly been a great antagonist, I believe calling him a true villain already is jumping the gun. Remember, in Gravity Falls there is no one you can trust! Not even the writers!

Mr. Hirsch is a notorious troll, after all….

    • Also, sorry if this comment appears twice! I tried linking one of Alex’s tweets originally, but then it told me “Your comment is awaiting moderation,” so I tried again without the link. Sorry about that!

  21. Might need to tweet to this to Alex Hirsch and see what he thinks of ya, Doug.

  22. Fun fact: because one of the inspirations for Gravity Falls was Twin Peaks, Alex Hirsh initially approached David Lynch about playing Bill Cypher. When he declined the role, Alex Hirsh decided to play Bill himself doing his best not very good impersonation of David Lynch.

I love Sock Opera. Bill possessing Dipper’s body is both very funny and pretty unsettling and it is brilliant that his downfall ends up being that he forgets that a human body has limits that he doesn’t as a supernatural being.

  23. But the avatar-verse jews believe Wan was a powerful bender but he didn’t fuse with Ravva.

  24. There’s something that kind of bothered me about this episode. The love interest never removed his puppets. Is he nuts, or some kind of cerberus type creature with three heads?

  25. “How can you stop me…(slow head turn) when you don’t exist?” I found that moment legitametly creepy. This is my favorite episode in season 2 so far.

  26. at the theater in the background u can see the agents reading newspapers

  27. Crossover Princess

I needed a reminder of what the “Read?” poster looked like… turns out they made it! I’m not kidding! You can buy it off amazon!

  28. This reminds me, I remember seeing some fan-art of Mabel with the Nostalgia Critic.
