I gotta be honest. I lump this movie in a very special category: things my mom made me watch several times as a kid, but I just found really boring at the time. Other things in that category include E.T., Star Wars, and any kind of parade.
As an adult, I grew to love Star Wars, so maybe I should also rewatch The Wizard of Oz.
They’re off to see the Wizard,
the wonderful Wizard of Oz!
Sorry, couldn’t resist…
The tornado effects were used by the studio in movies up to the mid-50’s.
Yay! I love this movie! I LOVE musicals. I wish more movies were like this. I even find something in the bad ones! Wow, Brad had to censor something? Mind blown. Yeah, Tin Man was pretty good… Also, CeCe would be Glinda.
The scarecrow had a gun? it must have been a straw-man purchase. 🙂
The biggest single shock you will ever get out of The Wizard of Oz isn’t the Wizard’s reveal. It’s wondering how in the blue hell the Scarecrow, Tin-Man, and cowardly Lion got ambushed by the Witches guards and WON that fight.
I love how Brad can’t pronounce “munchkin” without saying “mun-chicken”
