Critic, you should do an old vs new on the chronicles of marina: the lion witch and wardrobe. It would be awesome.
Which old? the British mini-series or the animated movie?
let’s have a three way
“let’s have a three way”
That’s what she said! ^_^
I’d love for him to do an Old vs. New on Mel Brook’s The Producers
I’d love to see an Old vs. New on the two Clone Wars cartoons.
While on the subject, here are my suggestions for “Old vs. New”:
– Father of the Bride (1950) starring Spencer Tracy vs. Father of the Bride (1991) starring Steve Martin
– Mighty Joe Young (1949) vs. Disney’s Mighty Joe Young (1998)
– Hairspray (1988) vs. Hairspray (2007)
– Footloose (1984) vs. Footloose (2011)
What about Strange Bedfellows vs. I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry?
“Sparky Sparky Boom Man” there was just no way you could resist the A:tLA reference.
Actually, my first thought was Tim the Enchanter.
On an outer-space adventure / They got hit by cosmic rays / And the four would change forever / In some most fantastic ways
No need to fear / They’re here / Just call for Four / Fantastic Four
Don’t need no more.
That’s ungrammatical!
Oh, Reed Richards is elastic / Sue can fade from sight / Johnny is The Human Torch / The Thing just loves to fight / Call for Four / Fantastic Four / Fantastic Four
Kudos for that reference
thanks. ^-^
I always preferred the Defenders of the Earth as a kid =]
Defenders of the Earth, Defenders!
Out of the sky his rockets ignite!
Jets into battle, flies faster than light!
Flash Gordon!
Lord of the jungle, the hero who stalks!
The beasts call him brother, the ghost who walks!
Phantom!
Defenders of the Earth, Defenders!
Master of magic, spells and illusion,
Enemies crumble in fear and confusion!
Mandrake!
Defenders of the Earth, Defenders!
His strength is a legend, his skills conquer all,
Armed with his power, we never will fall!
Lothar!
Defenders of the Earth, Defenders!
With our new young hero’s, proving their worth,
Four become eight, defending the Earth!
Defenders of the Earth, Defenders!
– Stan Lee
CRITICCCC, can we have a review of SAMURAI COP before the sequel comes out? It’s the best worst movie ever!!!!
(and lexi belle is in the sequel, you know, if you’re into that sort of thing)
He’s married and has a tough job. So, I doubt he would be…… or even know who Lexi Belle is.
Because no married man or woman ever watches porn. Uh huh..
They do but doesn’t mean they should.
NC should review Michael Bay’s softcore porn. Not a parody,HE DIRECTED IT
Kerri Kendall Playboy Video Centerfold (September 1990)
It’s a hilarious, the girl bends over a car in the EXACT shot of Megan Fox in Transformers. It’s a view into the eyes of madness and no joke, the most focused directing of Bay’s career.very telling.
I’ve been saying it for years he should just shoot a porno with lots of explosions it’s his true calling
After doing some reseach (AKA IMDB research), not only is Lexi Belle gonna be in that movie, but so will Tommy “Oh Hai Mark” Wiseau.
Oh. Oh shit. I haven’t watched the Room, but I watched the Room review. His acting looks pretty shit.
The scenes with the critic are way too close to his face
HONG KONG 97 XD
I wonder what James would say.
“What a shitload of fuck!!”
Where do you think the inclusion came from?
I love Peking tianamen… IT WILL NEVER STOP!!!!
Doug i loved the video but the only reason why they went into space is because the movie was trying to follow the comics the most accurate source for super heroes back story but either from that very funny video
so, Johnny Storm defeats Dr Doom by pulling off the Trailblazer move from Killer Instinct? yyyeeeaaahh, show them how it’s done Cinder! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoCTpnJ0v60
NC,the Mr. Freeze you showed is actually director Otto Preminger not George Sanders.Sanders played him in the first Freeze appearance,Preminger the second, and Eli Wallach the third appearance.
And? Who played him when doesn’t matter
Wild!
And Eli Wallach also played freeze? As in “Tuco” Eli Wallach? Awesome, can’t wait to see that one when that DVD set is released in July (last two episodes of season 2).
I knew he was gonna review this film eventually. I wonder how long till the Critic reviews the sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer?
I’m still waiting until the day he reviews the 1997 Spawn movie and then gets shocked when he discovers how superior the HBO tv series is. sure he likes Batman TAS, but wait until he discovers Keith David being a super bad ass that isn’t Goliath from Gargoyles. other than that, there’s still The Punisher & The Punisher Warzone, Green Lantern, X-Men Origins Wolverine, and of course The Guyver 2 Dark Hero. yeah, he’s done a review of the 1st Guyver movie with Sage, but he has yet to watch & review the 2nd movie which is actually far better than the 1st. however, I’m still waiting very patiently until he finally reviews The Lawnmower Man.
I don’t know if I am ready to watch a review of Rise of the Silver Surfer. I was in Japan, it was insanely hot out, and my friend and I had to go into a theater to watch something. Anything would do, right?
I was happier being outside in 115 degrees than watching that crapfest. (Which I paid 24 dollars for. Jesus Christ)
God please let the reboot be good also Stan lee as the watcher be flipping awesome
They have Doom as an anti-socialist internet hacker… I think that’s all that needs to be said.
How do you know he will be anti-social?
He will more likely be a programmer, not a hacker.
Yeah, not looking forward to that.
It bugs me that Fox has the rights to the two greatest Marvel villains (Doom and Magneto) and while they’re doing a good job with Magneto (great actors, scriptwriters who know how to write him) they keep messing up the Dictator of Latveria.
I wish Marvel would get the filmrights to Doom back.
Oh, boo hoo. It’s bad because it’s different.
No, it’s bad because it’s a phenomenally lame downgrade from phenomenally awesome and interesting villain.
No it’s bad because it’s bad.
I would argue that Thanos is Marvel’s greatest villain, though Doom and Magneto are certainly up there, along with the Red Skull, Dormammu, and the Green Goblin.
Of course, the reason Fox keeps messing things up is because they’re Fox, and they suck.
Maybe the execution of it will be surprisingly effective. Just wait another three months.
Glad this theory is gaining traction. Hopefully he is The Watcher.
No, the reboot is going to suck, I can tell just from the poster and the trailers. It looks like the Fantastic Tweens. And apparently, the Thing walks around naked, which he’d never do because Ben Grimm was all about trying to hold onto his humanity and not be seen as a monster, and not wearing clothes would make him look more monstrous and less human.
Unless they’re going to make him able to change back and forth from human to rock form, which is even worse, because it removes the pathos of the character having to deal with the fact that he’s trapped in a nonhuman form, which is part of what makes the Thing such a sympathetic character.
It also recalls the awful cartoon where he could shift to Thing form using a magic ring. “Thing ring, do your thing!” (shudder)
And the Human Torch is black, for some reason, even though he’s supposed to be Sue’s brother.
Yeah, this is gonna suck big time.
and Dr. Doom is just an average hacker, not the Ruler of a country
You never know.
Malcolm’s power was funny as hell.
Godamnit guys, now that fucking song will be stuck in my head again.
I don’t usually comment on these things but I have to say THANK YOU for this. I did a review of this film last year (Adaptation Nation: Fantastic Four #shamelessplugFTW) and I was absolutely blown away by how little happens in it. I think you hit just about every major point I did and the whole time I was watching this I was just nodding my head like “I know, right? This guy gets it!”. It’s nice to see one’s own opinions backed up by someone with a bit more credibility than oneself.
Very good episode especially the ending with Rob. One thing that bugged me a bit was after you established that you Tamara, and Malcolm were on the couch; they never really said much.
From the episodes I have seen they are usually off screen and come in for the out of review comedy. Even when they are next to you like in the Disney Afternoon review, you were sort of explaining it to them plus there were a lot of interjections with that episode(same with the Monster Squad ep).
So for me cutting to you on the couch alone felt a little weird. Just some constructive criticism.
Yeah, more Tamara and Malcolm! Still enjoyed this video of course.
Hey Sparky Sparky! You forgot Avatars like Aang in the line up of emotional based powers.
F4 made the mistake a lot of 00’s comic movies made of introducing the arch villain along with the hero. I remembered how refreshing Dark Knight was because he wasn’t fighting the Joker he was up against the Scarecrow (way down on the list in the Rogue’s Gallery) and Ra’s Al Ghul it gave something to look forward with a sequel.
Jessica Alba: Believe it or not she was on her way to being a decent actress. But the supermodel/actress route is so inviting she hasn’t had to stretch as an actor in decades.
Jessica Alba was always someone I found attractive, but couldn’t act her way out of a paper bag.
The sequel is worse.
I’m surprised this even got a sequel.
someone had to do it
“i could summon explosions at will”
so it made you Michael bay?
Does that mean he has the ability to make really fast paced action where no one can really tell what’s going on as well? That is a Micheal Bay staple.
Oh God, this movie. This fucking movie.
I’m not the biggest Fantastic Four fan, and was going to give them a chance with this movie, but dear God, was this movie bad. The only reedeeming part is Michael Chiklis as The Thing, but everyone in this flick is so damn annoying.
This movie really should have been called: Fantastic Four: Lounging Around and making Jackasses of ourselves.
So is Rob “Hong Kong 97” man?
Well that and Julian whathisname as Doctor Doom.
I consider this film a guilty pleasure, if I’m honest.
I agree that this movie isn’t a great movie, but it IS fun to watch; the same goes with Rise of the Silver Surfer. I’m also looking forward to see how good the upcoming reboot will be.
…And where the Hell is that review of Tim Burton’s Planet of the Apes?
I didn’t know you filmed the Daredevil vlogs that far in advance. That explains the rate at which they’re being released.
The reboot is going to suck and suck bad. BUT,it’ll probably be better than this 2005 crapola sundae.
LOL at the Black Widow toy reference. Doug clearly frequents io9…
Suuuuuuuuuuuuure. Crtisize a movie BEFORE it’s released. You am smart.
Usually I would agree with you, but… they’re making Doom an Internet hacker. That’s a pretty big red flag right there.
Really? The vibe I got from the trailer was that they were making him an alien but maybe I was just confused.
Make no mistake; this movie is going to suck hard. It’s blood presumptuous of Fox to scheduale a sequel for 2017 when absolutley NOBODY thinks this movie is going to work.
Oh, I can’t wait for the commentary on this.
SPARKY SPARKY BOOM MAN! <3 Brilliant reference.
If you are to keep going with early 2000’s superhero movies, please, do Hulk (2003) and talk about the first attemp of making a profound movie about a comic book.
I also want to see that review, because it’s too slow, has not enough action, too dark and depressing and not enough like the Lou Ferigno TV series.
Can you talk about the MTV series Good Vibes and Daria?
Also on a side note, I mention this all before, why do you review a classic horror like this one I’ve finally found after all these years after just seeing a few scenes of it and never knowing how it ended. It’s called Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama. You might like it. Maybe.
Also what do think of these TV series shows called:
John Doe
Forever Knight
The Misfits (British Show)
Misfits of Science (Movie and series)
and The Zeta Project
(I think some of these shows are like Sonic the Hedgehog a.k.a. Sonic Sat a.m. They all have incomplete ending.)
P.S. Is there anyway you can review the Japanese versions of Ironman, Wolverine, X-men and Blade? I’d also really like to hear what you think about the FX series Archer and Chozen.
P.S.S. And I never found out if you were going talk more about the Disney Afternoon shows Gummi Bears, Chip N Dale’s Rescue Rangers, Talespin(even the hour uncut movie special I found about it) and Darkwing Duck. Also you never answer my question, If you hate the Goof Troop song: “Gotta Be Gettin’ Goofy” then does that mean you hate The Darkwing Duck Rap?

Nostalgia Chick did a good review of Daria if you’re interested.
you have to admit the ‘Thing’ looks incredible in this movie
You know to quote the Cinema Snob on his review of Wired, “There are a lot of things wrong with this movie, Michael Chiklis is not one of them”
I also like the fact that Chiklis’ Thing is 100% real with the help of costumes an makeup instead of CGI. As for The Thing in the upcoming reboot, I actually LIKE what I’ve seen so far from the last trailer that was released; I still waiting to see him talk though.
I actually like this movie. It was better than Daredevil. Although, I may like it because it came out when I was still in elementary school. Follow up comment to come! 😀
Review the second movie during Valentines. There’s a lot of love going around.
This film is not nearly as bad as folks make it out to be.
Exactly. It’s harmless. The same goes with Rise of the Silver Surfer.
You’re right. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit the first time I saw it.
