I’ve never seen any of the Superman movies. The only Superman stuff I’ve ever seen are Critic reviews and the first few seasons of Smallville. I’ll agree that the stuff on this list look pretty dumb, but I don’t think it’s fair to call the casting for that one movie a “dumb moment”.

Blame Einstein and one of his time traveling theories for #1. Basically, if you go from point A, across the world and return to the same point at certain speed, you’ll return faster than you’ll leave and thus traveling back in time every time you make a trip around the world.
Like I’ve said before-i don’t remember the exact numbers, but I believe the speed of light was mentioned…?
So yeah-nobody could prove it and since it was Einstein who said that-nobody could disprove this either.
How do I know this crap? My Highschool physics teacher turned out to be quite the geek…
There is one way the “spinning the Earth backwards” could work, if it’s symbolic for him just going back in time. If he flew fast enough to break the light barrier, he’d go back in time. The Earth spinning backwards could be symbolic for that, because if you watched reality in reverse, you would see that.
The thing is, it’s not as though the earth goes backwards and undoes time. It’s that the earth APPEARS to go backwards because, from his perspective, time is reversing.
