Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse – Blood Splattered Vlog

This week The Horror Guru and Count Jackula review SCOUTS GUIDE TO THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE, a movie that deserved way better word of mouth!

About TheHorrorGuru

In Blood Splattered Cinema the Horror Guru reviews the bloodiest, wildest and weirdest horror cinema has to offer.

  1. 5 minutes in and I just have to comment:
I caught this movie the other night having never even heard of it previously {not that I’m really up on Horror Comedies in advance} and feel it was a decent movie – Not great, Not Shaun of the Dead…But on the upper curve of Zomcoms certainly.

    However…Possible Spoiler coming up:

I am one of the people who for about half the movie absolutely hated that one character – The little s*&t who treated his mates like dirt.
I so wanted him to die!
But by the end of the movie I had warmed to him a little and didn’t mind too much that he survived {I still think he should have got his comeuppance.}.

  2. Question: Are there any gory movies you hate? Or atleast do not like?

  3. Hey guys, you talked me into seeing this last night, and yeah, awesome.
Watching it a second time…on the same day, we were calling out what movies they were paying homage to. You covered quite a few, but tons more were winked at.
I think the reason it got such bad reviews was due to the way young people are so internet and electronically attached to their devices.
My generation didn’t have the internet, we didn’t play computer or Nintendo games in out rooms, we read books, rode bikes, made cardboard and metal weapons and had battles in the parks (cops allowed it, only swinging by if someone was bleeding) and we did scouts, Civil Air Patrol and stuff like that.
Younger reviewers (you guys in your late 20’s early 30’s) grew up without those things.
Anywho, LOVED this movie it’s like the 10th you’ve talked me into seeing, and you haven’t steered me wrong yet, thank you both.

  4. Thank you for providing the review. As you said: it was roundly ripped by critics. I love giving a movie a chance and I’m rewarded with a new favorite. (Helldriver is an example of that.) I’ll be checking this out. Pretty sure my 20 year old son will like it, too.
