The Good Dinosaur seems far too much like Ice Age and The Jungle Book in its plot.
Is that necessarily a bad thing? For me, the interactions between Arlo and his father felt like an homage to The Lion King.
I liked the film, but I could definitely see the disjointedness in the entire plot. I’ve known about the film’s development hell, and it was pretty obvious while watching it. There were several good scenes sprinkled throughout, but the pacing was off.
I enjoyed seeing TGD in theaters. It isn’t my favorite, but it’s definitely way above Cars series for me. Cars is boring as hell.
When Brad said that he prefers Cars over this I wanted to strangle him.
I never had barely any interest in seeing The Good Dinosaur. I thought that maybe the trailers were making it look bad, like the trailers for Inside Out, but I don’t think that’s the case this time. I will probably see the Angry Birds movie.
Your review makes me want to see Victor Frankenstein. I didn’t see the whole review due to that.
Ditto happymel – though our best theater has no Frankensteinian show, only Good Dinosaur with that Stallone guy, you know?
Might have to chose between something good AND star wars later on!! Ohnoes!
